Sap Center (formerly Hp Pavilion)
SAP Center (formerly HP Pavilion) OverviewThe SAP Center (formerly HP Pavilion) is home to the NHL's San Jose Sharks, and is appropriately nicknamed the "Shark Tank". The SAP Center opened its doors in 1993, and has a capacity of 17,562 for hockey, and holds 19,190 for concerts. San Jose Sharks Seat NumbersThe SAP Center (formerly HP Pavilion) follows the standard sports arena pattern in that the lowest seat number in a given section will be closest to the adjacent lower section. The same rule applies for the 100s and 200s sections. For example, seat 1 in Section 115 would be closest to the highest seat number in section 114 (seat 24), or the highest seat number in Section 115 (seat 22) would be closest to seat number 1 in section 116. The lower level sections typically have between 21 and 22 seats, although the stairs leading down these sections split the section in half until row 20. In these rows about 5 seats are skipped in the center of the section. In the upper level sideline sections, the stairs run along side the sections, the seat numbers range from 16-28. The corner sections in both levels have seat numbers that vary depending on the width of the section.San Jose Sharks Premium SeatingThe San Jose Sharks offer club seating in section 101-104, 112-118, and 126-128. These seats offer great sight lines of the rink, as well as in-seat wait service and access to the arena's various lounges. The Penthouse Lofts at SAP Center (formerly HP Pavilion) are located aboce the 200 level section and are ideal for corporate gatherings or private parties. Amentities include premier food options, TVs, and plush leather seating. Sharks Bench and Scoring ZoneThe San Jose Sharks bench is located in front of section 101 (seats 1-8) and 128 (22-25) and the vistors bench is located in front of sections 101 (15-22) and 102 (1-4). The Sharks shoot twice at the net in front of sections 107-109, and the penalty box is located in section 115.Best Seats for San Jose SharksThe best seats for any hockey game are more debatable than other sporting event, so there is not a clear Best Seat fora San Jose Sharks game. At the end of the day it is all up to personal preferrence, but generally speaking if you cannot score front row tickets on the glass in one of the scoring zones, you want to sit above row 10 in the lower level so you can see the plays develop. The Club seats described above, in sections 102 and 114 are a great option for any Sharks fan. However some fans prefer to sit behind the net for Sharks games, while other Shark fans prefer to sit in the corners so they can watch the puck cross the goal line.
