Aussies Make World Record Basketball Shot
In his team’s series against the Memphis Grizzlies, Stephen Curry of the eventual world champion Golden State Warriors made one of the craziest shots in recent memory. With time expiring in the third quarter of Game 6, Curry launched the basketball in bazooka-like fashion from 60-70 feet away from the hoop and drilled the shot to extend Golden State’s lead.
One can’t help but be impressed by the range of Curry’s jump shot, but if you think that’s amazing…you haven’t seen anything yet.
Australian trick-shot team How Ridiculous recently attempted to break the world record for the highest-altitude basketball shot by trying to catch net from atop the Gordon Dam in Tasmania. The distance on the shot–459 feet.
While Australia has definitely emerged as a place that produces quality basketball players–the NBA Finals just featured Defensive Player of the Year candidate Andrew Bogut and super-sub turned starting point-man Matthew Dellavedova–no one could have predicted that the nation would produce a man with 400-plus foot range on his jumper.
