The Islanders will be heading back to Long Island starting in the 2018-2019 at the renovated Nassau Coliseum, but for only some their games. They will play the rest in Brooklyn at the Barclay’s Center. However, that arrangement is temporary, as the State of New York will be building a $1 billion, state of the art arena and retail village next to Belmont Park. It will be known as Belmont Park Arena, and will be the new home of the New York Islanders starting in the 2021-2022.

While details are limited this early, we wanted to compile as much information as possible. We’ll continue to update this post as more information becomes available.

Belmont Park Arena Capacity

The initial plans call for the multi-purpose arena to have a capacity of 18,000, with the modern, upscale amenities that come standard with new arenas. The Nassau Coliseum only seats 13,500, with out of date amenities and very limited suites.
