Billy Joel on his MSG Residency

Seating at MSG for Billy Joel Concerts

Here we have two pictures from the Billy Joel concert, both from the 15th row behind the stage. As long as you’re not in the first couple rows, the best deals and great views are from row 5 to 20. Most people think you won’t be able to see very well, but with the Piano Man’s 3D setup, you’ll be able to see just fine:

UPDATE: Billy Joel to perform at Madison Square Garden indefinitely

Billy Joel, in partnership with Madison Square Garden, has officially announced an indefinite string of concerts at the famous Garden. Joel will be playing one show a month “for as long as fans keep buying tickets”, which based on his four sold-out concert dates so far, should be a long time to come.

Billy Joel Tour – 2014 Billy Joel Tour

Just two weeks ago, before Billy Joel hosted a surprise appearance at the Paramount Theater in Long Island, the idea of a Billy Joel Tour in 2014 would have been a long shot in the dark. He hasn’t really been seen in concert since he (reportedly) cancelled the 2010 leg of The Face-to-Face tour with Elton John. The Face-to-Face tour was one of the longest-running and most profitable concert tours in history, so why not go out on top? But, it seems the Piano Man can’t stay away.

The show in Long Island, which even though it was announced the day before, still sold out in seconds, was billed as a warm-up to his upcoming European Tour in November, where he will be making four pit stops in Ireland and the United Kingdom, rumors swirled that Billy Joel was planning a US Tour for 2014. This was no doubt helped by the fact that he ended the concert by telling the crowd, “Maybe we’ll see you soon.”

While your mother may have told you to never listen to the rumor mill, in the music industry, the grapevine can be uncannily accurate. Shortly after his show in Long Island, it was announced that Billy Joel would be performing three shows in Florida this January.

More Billy Joel Tour Dates TBA?

While Billy Joel has stayed mute on the subject of when and where (and if) he is going to perform more shows in the US, I have a sneaking suspicion that we can expect more appearances from this Grammy-Award winning Hall-of-Famer. After all, Billy Joel is a New York native, and only planning one show at a tiny theater all the way out in Long Island doesn’t seem like something this Bronx-born musician would do. If Billy Joel were to tour the US in 2014, I think we can expect that some larger New York venues like the Nassau Coliseum, Barclay’s Center, and last but certainly not least, Madison Square Garden.

UPDATE: Billy Joel Tour in UK and Ireland

Billy Joel kicked off his four-show European tour on Oct. 29th at the Phones4u Arena in Manchester. Bily Joel fans at the concert commented that he was kicking off his European tour better than ever. See Billy Joel perform “We Didn’t Start the Fire” live on Oct. 29th below:
