Cats: The Jellicle Ball Ticket Options

NYC’s Broadhurst Theatre has a capacity of 1,156 people, which is considered fairly large for a Broadway venue. When buying Cats: The Jellicle Ball tickets, you have six seating options: Orchestra Left, Center, and Right, along with Left Mezzanine, Center Mezzanine, and Right Mezzanine.

Best Seats at Broadhurst Theatre

Typically, orchestra seats are considered the best Broadway show tickets. The orchestra rows are close to the stage and usually provide unobstructed views. The best seats at Broadhurst Theatre are most often considered in Center Orchestra Rows D-K and Center Mezzanine Rows A-D.

Row A of the Center Mezzanine is also a fan favorite, offering an elevated perspective that’s ideal for a spectacle-heavy musical. Note that the wide auditorium means sightlines stay expansive through most of the house, though far-side seats in the Orchestra can be affected by structural features blocking parts of the stage.

Obstructed Seats in Broadhurst Theatre

Far-side Orchestra seats are the most consistently problematic. Towards the edges, views become gradually less comprehensive, and far-side seats in the Orchestra are particularly affected by structural features blocking parts of the stage.

This is made worse by the show’s runway staging. One audience member in a side orchestra seat noted that while the view was decent for most of the show, they could not see performers at the extreme front of the runway.

Partial-view Orchestra Left seats come with a specific trade-off: action happening on the Stage Right audience section and stairs is obscured, and there’s no sightline to the DJ in the booth in the House Left Box.

Audiences in the first three or four rows may have difficulty seeing upstage, as a fair amount of action takes place on an upper deck about four stair steps up, and the stage itself is relatively high.

Mezzanine rows A/B center are mostly excellent, but equipment and monitors jutting out in the center of the mezzanine can block the view from those front rows, and the mezzanine bar may cut off the very tip of the runway stage.

Runway/Onstage seats offer total immersion but at a cost. This side seating is partially obstructed by the curtain, so a couple of things that happen on the opposite side of the stage can be missed.

Accessible Seating at Broadhurst Theatre

Thankfully, there are accessible seating options at Broadhurst Theatre. The Broadhurst Theatre Orchestra section is step-free. There are aisle seats in the Orchestra and Mezzanine sections with folding armrests.

There are also six wheelchair viewing spaces in rows K and O in the Left and Right Orchestra and row Q in the Center Orchestra. Other accessible options are also available to Broadway-goers.
