Coors Field History and Overview

Coors Field, situated in Denver’s Lower Downtown district, has been the home of Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies since 1995.

Coors Field has 50,455 seats and is 5,280 feet above sea level. The high altitude has given this field a reputation as a hitter’s ballpark, as a ball hit at this elevation travels approximately nine percent farther than it does at sea level. The field is distinguished by its old-fashioned 1920s-style clock tower at the main entrance and the fantastic views of the Rocky Mountains it offers to baseball fans.

Coors Field Seat Numbers

The Coors Field seating chart, which includes seat numbers, is arranged at the 100, 200, 300, and 400 levels. Within these areas, there are 13 types of seats with specific distinctions.

The seat numbers for Coors Field follow a standard pattern. Seat number 1 is closest to the lower-number section adjacent to it. For example, seat 1 in section 131 will be closest to the highest seat number in section 130.

Coors Field Club and Suites

The Colorado Rockies Suites are located between the 200- and 300-level sections and extend the full length of the field, from home plate to the edge of each outfield side. The Club Level seats are located at the 200 level and occupy sections 214-247.

Within this level, they are subdivided between Club Level Infield and Club Level Outfield. The Club Level Infield comprises sections 221-223, 225-227, 234, 236, 238, 239, and 241. The Club Level Outfield includes the left-field sections 242 through 247 and the right-field sections 214 through 219.

Rockies Boxes at Coors Field

The Infield Boxes are at the field level and stretch from home plate to the corner bases. This area consists of 22 sections, 120 through 141. The Midfield Boxes comprise just four narrow sections, two on either side of the ballpark along both foul lines at the edge of the infield. The sections are 118 and 119 in the right field and 142 and 143 in the left field. The Outfield Boxes are situated at the field level, near each field corner.

The Right Field Box Seats are located at field level and comprise sections 105 through 109. On the right field side, they are sections 110 through 117, and on the left field side, they are sections 144 through 150. Each section begins at the edge of the field except for sections 113 and 114.

Reserved Sections at Coors Field

The Lower Reserved Seats are located at the 300 level in the front one-third of each section and are subdivided into three areas. The Lower Reserved Infield seats are in sections 321 through 340. The Lower Reserved Outfield seats are in sections 315 through 319 in right field and 342 through 346 in left field. The Lower Reserved Corner seats are in sections 311 through 313. The Right Field Mezzanine Seats are located at the 200 level, in sections 201 through 209. The Pavilion Seats are located in the left and left-center fields in sections 151 through 160.

The Upper Reserved Seats are subdivided into three sections. They’re located in the back portions of all 300-level sections, going from home plate to the corner of each outfield. The Upper Reserved Infield Seats are located in sections 321 to 340. The Upper Reserved Outfield seats go along the right field in sections 315 to 319 and along the left field in sections 342 to 347.

The Upper Reserved Corner seats are in sections 311 to 314. The right field reserved seats are at the 300 level and go from deep right-center field to the right field corner. They are split into two areas. The Upper Right Field Reserved seats are located toward the back portions of sections 301 through 310, and the Lower Right Field Reserved seats are located in sections 301 through 309 in the front portion of each section. The Rockpile Seats are located directly in line with the center field and consist of 2,300 bleacher seats spread across sections 401, 402, and 403.

Colorado Rockies Dugout & Bullpen Location

If you want to camp near the hometown heroes, sections 121 through 125 are behind the Rockies’ dugout. Are you rooting for the visitors, and do you want to let them know? Sections 136 through 140 are the closest to the visiting team’s dugout. The bullpens are located in front of sections 201-204.

Best Seats for Rockies Games at Coors Field

There are four suites positioned directly behind the home plate. This area is known as the Rockies Coors Clubhouse, and the suites are designated as A, B, C, and D. Most would agree that these accommodations offer outstanding seats. Locals claim that seats on the first base side down the line and a few rows toward the inside offer an excellent view. Another place for a great view is high up in one of the 300s on the third-base side. The vantage point offers a full view of the field and a breathtaking view of the Rocky Mountains, something to behold on a clear day.

Your best bet for catching a home run is finding a seat in the lower 150s. That area is close to the foul line and sees a lot of action from the hitters. If you land tickets for a fireworks game, sit in the bleachers. Coors Field staff first allowed attendees in the bleachers to enter the field to view the displays.

Sections 105 through 108 are significant if you want to get a touch of sunshine during a day game. Make sure you remember to bring sunglasses and sunscreen. If you are sensitive to heat, a spot in one of the club level 200 sections will give you a clear view of most of the action while offering access to an air-conditioned concourse where you can cool off.

The low-300 sections will give you a nice view of the Mile High City, and a seat close to the end of the row in section 160 will provide you with a clear view of the fountains that go off every time the Rockies score.

Covered Seating at Great Coors Field

Looking for a shady area for a Colorado Rockies home game? This section is for you.

Shaded seats change depending on the time of day. You can generally find covered seating at Coors Field behind home plate or sections along the third baseline, farther back in one of those sections or a covered row, and in the back half of the upper 300-level sections under the roof.

If you’re looking for shade, we suggest choosing a seat in the last few rows of sections 128-135 for early afternoon games at Coors Field. The upper 300 to 335 sections also offer shade from the sun, protecting against nosebleeds.

ADA Seating and Parking at Coors Field

For those who are wheelchair users and/or those looking to attend a game at Coors Field with somebody who is, there is some important information that you’ll want to know. If you’re seeking ADA seating, you’ll find accessible rows at the top of most sections throughout the venue.
