Everything We Know About Adele’s New Album

September 13, 2019 by

19…21…25…Adele? We’re not sure what will be of the famed U.K singer’s upcoming album title, if it’ll be the beginning of another trilogy or stand as an eponymous record, but we do know it’s coming. Soon.

Adele has shared very little about her life in 2019, but when she has taken to social media, it’s been to post messages of well being, self-care, and unabashed enjoyment. One would find it a little hard to believe she endured a separation from her longtime partner Simon Konecki this year, but darker matters such as these are destined to filter into the art.

Here is Everything We Know About Adele’s New Album. We will continue to update this blog as more information rolls in—which should be soon, given the timing of her upcoming album release.

It’s coming in 2019.

“She is definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music. It seems it will happen later this year,” a source close to Adele said. “She talks about last year as a very difficult year, and she’s said in the past that creating new music is almost like therapy. You can tell that she is ready to share with her fans.”

This quote, along with the others which comprised the People magazine article, point to few absolutes—but they are there. Adele is coming out with new music in 2019. Most likely, because a source opened up in the first place, Sony is readying its release right now. When can fans expect the new Adele album? November is the best bet. The optimum dates being November 8th or 15th. 25 was released four years ago at roughly the same time, November 20th.

Adele is feeling “perky as hell”

Given that Adele had a tough year, we are relieved that she has not only soldiered through, but her attitude is reflective of overall wellness.

“She surrounds herself with loyal girlfriends who are as private as she is. She has the best personality and is very warm and generous,” says the source to People magazine. Adds a U.K. industry source: “She’s perky as hell!”

What does this have to do with her upcoming album? We think state of mind directly translates into recording music. Though fans are aching for signature, soulful Adele ballads, they should also brace themselves for more energetic—or at least optimistic—singles.

It was Recorded (Partially) In New York

Spotted in a New York drag bar and handed the mic, Adele reportedly told the crowd “I’m out in New York working”. This arrived right around the time (March, 2019) Adele was spotted by E! News photographers in New York, entering a recording studio.

Not to mention, Adele’s last album 25 was recorded largely in New York’s Electric Lady Studios. Frankly, we don’t care where she does it, as long as a new LP is on the way.

Possibly A Taylor Swift Collaboration

In frequenting New York recording studios, Adele has reportedly been stopping by one of its famous penthouse residents: Taylor Swift. According to Hollywood Pipeline, an eye witness spotted Adele’s team bringing recording equipment to Swift’s Tribeca home. And though there’s no physical evidence to support it, an Adele + Taylor Swift collaboration is something we are surprised doesn’t already exist in the pop sphere. In short, the fans deserve this.

If this rumor is true, we imagine that Taylor Swift will have more of a songwriting role. But if the two manage to bring both sets of vocals to a track, we foresee an instant classic. Especially considering that Taylor Swift just released her best album to date, the weather has never been better for these artists to collaborate.

There Will Be Breakup Songs

But we don’t think it will be a breakup album. It was, so far, Adele’s biggest breakup to date. With the divorce filed from Simon Konecki—her partner of eight years and father to their son Angelo—it’s easy to imagine the difficulty of this past year. We can almost hear the vulnerability, the sadness, the realness of Adele’s forthcoming record. One that will undoubtedly shine a light on her life’s drama and the lessons she pulled from it.

But remember, Adele is feeling “perky as hell”. She is voracious and ready to share new music with her fans. We don’t think anyone sums it up better than the artist herself, who took to Instagram to assure fans of the courageous place she’s standing from.
