Lucas Oil Stadium Seat Details
The 100s – The 100s sections along the sidelines typically begin with row 1 and end with row 23. The 100s sections on the corners end in row 25, and the 100s sections in the end zone in row 35.
Best Seats in the 100s – Although the best seats for Indianapolis Colts games are subjective, anything between the 30 yard lines are great seats. For the best view at Lucas Oil Stadium, you want to sit above the 10th row in sections 111 to 115 and 138 to 142 so you have enough elevation to see the plays develop.
The 200s – The 200s sections along the sidelines begin with row 1 and end at row 13. The 200s sections on the corners vary in size, but typically end in either row 6 or 13.
Best Seats in the 200s – There are no bad seats in the 200s sections. However, if we were to rank the best seats, then that’d go to section 240, which is behind the Colts’ bench. Not only will you have a great view of the players and coaches, but you will also have the perfect elevation to see plays develop.
The 300s through 600s – In the 300s sections the first row is usually 1 and the last row is 4. The 400s sections follow the same pattern as the 300s sections except for the sections in the end zone, which end at row 22. The 600s sections typically begin with row 1 and end with row 20.
Best Seats in the 300s-600s – From my personal experience, I loved sitting in the 600s sections. Not only did I have a great view of the field, but it was easy to watch plays develop and break down. I never felt too far away from the action.
There aren’t any bad seats at Lucas Oil Stadium. If given the option, the best seats in the 300s-600s sections are in any section between the 30 yard lines.

Lucas Oil Stadium’s Retractable Roof
The retractable roof at Lucas Oil Stadium boasts the largest opening of all current and planned NFL stadiums with retractable roofs. The Colts determine whether or not if the roof is to be opened or closed 90 minutes prior to kickoff. The roof remains open unless precipitation or lightning is within the vicinity of the stadium, the temperature drops below 40 degrees F (4 degrees C), or wind gusts are greater than 40 miles per hour (64km/h), in which case the roof operators will close the roof. Once the roof is closed, it may not be reopened.
Lucas Oil Stadium Reviews
“Attended a game at Lucas Oil Stadium and can say without hesitation that this is one of the nicest football facilities I’ve been to. The staff is very friendly, and the food is great with nice choices.
In addition, the restrooms are clean and convenient…a big plus. Can definitely recommend that you get to Lucas Oil Stadium whenever you get a chance.” – via Tripadvisor
“This is a great stadium with easy access to downtown restaurants and bars. I’ve never had any issue with finding parking either. The nosebleed seats are truly nosebleeds and it’s a steep climb to get to the top. I’d splurge and get better seats if I were you. I’ve never been with the roof open but I bet it’s pretty awesome. Great spot for the B1G championship. Hope it continues to be held here every year!” – via Yelp
