UPDATE: Justin Bieber Played A Surprise Acoustic Performance, Still Has Amazing Vocals

After years of being a good role model reckless behavior, and just this year, starring in the greatest Calvin Klein ad of all time getting spoofed by SNL in one of the greatest SNL skits since The Lonely Island left, it looks like the Biebs is finally taking it back to where it all began – a boy, a guitar, and an excellent set of pipes.

According to ET, Justin admitted he was feeling nervous after going so long without performing, but according to fans, he killed it on stage at the State Social House in Los Angeles. Apparently the Biebs had missed performing as much as his fans. He tweeted out the following message the next day:

Love him or hate him, Justin Bieber is a superstar. The kid just can’t get out of bed in the morning without making headlines. Whether it’s playing shows for his millions of fans, or giving arrogant depositions to the courts, he is always in the spotlight. So it comes to no surprise that when the musician started poking at the idea of touring this year, heads began to turn.

The ‘Biebs’ was originally discovered on (of all places) Youtube, where his parents posted videos of him doing cover songs following a talent competition in which he won second place. Shortly after, he was signed by Usher and released his insanely successful debut album My World”, which sold over 137,000 copies within the first week of exposure. Since then, he has released 9 CD’s and grossed over $80,000,000 in ticket sales alone! But it seemed like life over the past year had been quiet for Bieber, with the exception of some not-so-flattering incidents in his offstage life.

That is, until now. Earlier in January, this picture popped on his Instagram, featuring the star posing with producer Rick Rubin:

Now, Mr. Rubin is no joke. He is regarded as a “super-producer” and has worked with such names as Public Enemy, Slayer, Beastie Boys, Eminem, Kanye West and… well let’s just say that this guy has quite the impressive resume`. It’s doubtful that these two are just hanging out and playing video games. Adding further speculation, Bieber’s manager re-posted this same image, but adding the caption “working on some history”.

According to MTV, in a recent interview with V Magazine, Bieber was happy to discuss the idea of a new studio album and a possible tour, saying “I took the last year off and I’m excited to get back to work”. The Canadian born musician was also seen in the past year with other industry powerhouses such as Chris Brown and Ariana Grande. So while he has pretty much confirmed that he wants to do some big things in 2015, it’s at least certain that he is trying, and the ball is rolling.

So what does this mean for the teenage star? If he is indeed producing a new album, he definitely has chosen top-notch talent to work beside him. Will this lead to success reminiscent of his earlier platinum days? Or is it too late for Justin to bounce back after all of the negative headlines he was subject of in 2014?

He has an army of undying fans and supporters that loyally stick by his side, so it is doubtful that those headlines will hinder his success in the least. But will he tour? Will he get back up on the stage and do what he does best in the coming year? One thing is certain: for now, we will just have to wait, because the Justin Bieber Tickets page on TickPick still yields 0 results.
