Kendrick Lamar and SZA Headline “The Championship” Tour

January 22, 2018 by

It’s been a big year for TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment), the label responsible for signing the one and only Kendrick Lamar, and perhaps the most prominent new voice who made her debut in 2017, SZA. Now, to kick off Grammy week, TDE has announced their first ever full label tour which will include all of their incredible signees.

“The Championship” Tour features label artists Kendrick Lamar, SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, SiR, Lance Skiiiwalker and more to be announced. The jaunt begins May 4th in Vancouver before venturing to major North American cities such as Dallas, New York, and Chicago. The TDE roster will then close things out with their final show on Jun. 16 in Pittsburgh, PA at KeyBank Pavilion.

It’s been an eventful year for TDE, who recently signed LSU running back Derrius Guice to their new sports agency. Not to mention producing Black Panther: The Album for the forthcoming Ryan Coogler-directed film. TDE has already dropped two songs from the soundtrack, Jay Rock’s starry record “King’s Dead” (featuring K. Dot, Future and James Blake) and Kendrick and SZA’s “All the Stars“. And from the official Black Panther trailer, fans got a snippet of a new banger between Kendrick and Vince Staples.

In 2017, TDE stuffed the competition with the release of two masterpieces, one being Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN., the other being CTRL, the shining debut from SZA. Both albums soared to platinum status and secured a boatload of Grammy noms. This year, Lamar is up for seven Grammys, while SZA is up for five including Best New Artist. It seems pretty hard to believe that you will be able to catch both talents on tour this year, but TDE is making it happen with “The Championship” Tour.

Tickets for “The Championship” Tour go on sale to the general public starting Friday, January 26th at 12PM local time. American Express Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public for select cities beginning Tuesday, January 23rd at 10AM local time through Thursday, January 25th at 12PM local time.
