Lena Horne Theatre, originally named the Mansfield Theatre, was built in 1926 by Irwin and Henry Chanin. In 1960, the theater was renamed after Brooks Atkinson, a famous New York Times theater critic. It was recently changed to Lena Horne Theatre in honor of the iconic entertainer and civil rights activist, becoming the first Broadway theatre to be named for a Black woman. The theater has 1,029 seats available in three sections. These sections are Orchestra, Front Mezzanine, and Rear Mezzanine.
