Lorde Announces North American ‘Melodrama’ Tour Dates

Today (June 16th) is the day Lorde fans have been waiting for: the arrival of her sophomore album MelodramaThe album was preceded by an incredible and diverse set of singles: the banger “Green Light“, the beautiful ballad “Liability“, and “Perfect Places“, a track reminiscent of why we fell in love with Lorde in the first place. Now, on the day Melodrama is available to stream in its entirety, Lorde has blessed her stateside fans with even better news.

Lorde has announced the North American leg of the Melodrama World Tour, set to kick off March 2018 in Milwaukee and conclude April 2018 in Tennessee. The 30-date arena tour will follow the European leg of the Melodrama Tour, which was announced previous to the release of Melodrama and will begin this September. Though we know classic soul/ R&B artist Khalid will support her through Europe, Lorde has yet to announce which acts will serve as openers on the North American Melodrama Tour, but we’re hopeful that she will enlist someone fantastic, or perhaps her frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff and his band Bleachers.

We wish you a happy Friday and happy listening to Lorde’s new album Melodrama, a masterful album about being a young woman in a tumultuous pop industry and the price of being dedicated to and responsible for recording the human experience. Not surprisingly, Lorde pulls all of this off in a way that is all at once compelling, accurate, and true. Check back tomorrow, June 17th for our in-depth review of Melodrama.
