M.I.A. Releases Beyonce “Flawless” Remix, Dances With Her Son- Watch/Listen Here

 

M.I.A. is one of several artists who’ve been remixing tracks from Beyonce‘s last LP. Proving that bad girls really do do it well, M.I.A. just shared an awesome remix of Beyonce’s hit, “Flawless.” It’s called “Baddygirl 2” and contains a sample of Bey’s 2008 hit, “Diva.” The track sounds like classic M.I.A. and has the “Paper Planes” singer-rapper reworking the lines, singing, “I woke up like this / I went to bed like this / We do everything just like this.”

Earlier this year, she posted an exclusive preview of her remix of Beyonce’s “Flawless” on Instagram. By preview, we mean she posted a video of her dancing to the remix with her five year old son. Pretty exciting AND adorable, right?

The track sounds just as energetic and combative as her newest album Matangi. Take our favorite track off that album, “Y.A.L.A.” (“You Always Live Again”), for example- it’s her satirical response to the slogan “Y.O.L.O.” (You Only Live Once) popularized by Drake. Lyrics like “if you only live once, why we keep doing the same shit?” make it pretty obvious how she feels about the whole Y.O.L.O. thing.

Wondering about a tour? Well she hasn’t announced one yet unfortunately, but she WILL be performing at some of the music festivals on our list of  2014’s Best Music Festivals . And ofcourse, Beyonce is going on tour with Jay-Z. But you already knew that, didn’t you?
