#MusicMonday 4/22 - Dropkick Murphys
Today marks the second release of our #MusicMonday artist bio and playlist release, and this week we’re featuring the Dropkick Murphys. This week’s playlist reflects and complements Dropkick Murphy’s sound, featuring bands like The Pogues, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Everclear, and more.
And remember — You tell us what you want us to write, who you want us to write about, and join in the conversation!
Here’s a short snippet from the TickPick Google+ page:
The Dropkick Murphys are an Irish punk-rock band who use their heritage as the main inspiration for their music. Their songs are catchy and you can easily pick up the lyrics after a chorus or two (or drunken shouting/singing along works just as well!). Some of their songs are original (like the famous “Shipping it up to Boston”) and some of their songs are traditionally Celtic (like “Black Velvet Band”). They really found a way to spice up old tunes and make them rock-able! They use traditional rock garb, like guitars and such. What makes DM special, though, is their use of traditional Celtic instruments like the Bagpipes and the Bodhrán – a traditional Irish drum. This gives your regular rock music a bit of a lilt, where you want to jump and swing your partner all while shouting I’M SHIPPING IT UP… TO FIND MY PEG! LEG!!
And if you liked that, then be sure to check out Dropkick Murphys tickets here at TickPick!
