Billy Strings: Me/ And/ Dad
Album Release Date: November 18, 2022
The country and bluegrass guitarist Billy Strings will release a new album of covers with his father Terry Barber. The forthcoming record, a 14 song collection of classics, is due out this fall. Celebrating big success from last year’s Renewal, including a Grammy award, Strings decided the time was right to finally execute a bucket list dream of his. To make an album with his father, the first person he ever learned to play with.

“I’ve been burning up and down the highways the last 12 years, and as time slips away, you start thinking, ‘I need to make time,” Billy stated in the Me/ And/ Dad press release. “We’ve done these songs forever. We get to the part where someone has to sing and we’ll look at each other: ‘You or me?’ We’ve been doing it since I was 3 years old,” Billy continued.
From Doc Watson to Bill Monroe, Me/ And/ Dad is a whirlwind of love for music as shared between father and son. To become intimate with Billy Strings’ musical upbringing is a gift in and of itself. We absolutely can’t wait for this release.
Adeem the Artist: White Trash Revelry
Album Release Date: December 2, 2022
Who ever said that country music couldn’t be radical? Adeem the Artist, otherwise known as Adeem Maria, is a non-binary, pansexual country musician whose talent abounds. Last year, they released Cast-Iron Pansexual. The album’s banjo-driven title track encapsulates what makes Adeem the Artist so great. Music besides, their lyrics are clever, subversive, and poignant to their unique experience growing up in the South. “I’m a Marxist marching on oligarchs and a connoisseur of cornbread,” they sing.
Adeem the Artist, for everything fresh they’re bringing to the country music scene, is a voice you don’t want to ignore. We can’t wait for White Trash Revelry to hit the shelves this winter.
Bo Armstrong: if your tired heart is aching…
Album Release Date: November 18, 2020
The Dallas-born, Nashville-based Americana artist Bo Armstrong is returning with a brand new LP this month. The forthcoming album, if your tired heart is aching, follows 2020’s Chasing Ballads.
Since 2020, Armstrong has released nine new singles. We think the most recent two singles, “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her” and “Which Way’s Home?” are due to appear on if your tired heart is aching. Armstrong enlisted the help of rising Austin producer, and former collaborator, Brian Douglas Phillips for the recording of if your tired heart is aching. We have high hopes for their upcoming project.
Caitlin Rose: CAZIMI
Album Release Date: November 18, 2022
Described as one of “the sharpest songwriters on her scene,” country artist Caitlin Rose faces a big expectation when it comes to her next album. But our hopes are rightfully high. Following 2013’s The Stand-In, Caitlin Rose is readying a smoldering return. Her new album, CAZIMI, can be heard by the end of this week.
“I’m gonna light your fire/ Burn your little world down/ I’m gonna make you sorry somehow.” Don’t let Caitlin Rose’s gentle Texas drawl lull you. Her lyrics are sharp, propulsive, and biting with vulnerability. Fans of Kacey Musgraves will benefit from paying attention to this brimming talent. It’s no surprise that two longtime Kacey Musgraves collaborators can be found on the credits of Caitlin Rose’s CAZIMI.

Brit Taylor: Kentucky Blue
Album Release Date: February 3, 2023
When Brit Taylor arrived to the country scene two years ago with her dazzling debut Real Me, listeners knew they were in for the long haul. They knew to pay attention whenever, and wherever, Brit Taylor was singing. Now, fans ought to be very excited for the forthcoming release from Taylor.
Brit Taylor will drop her sophomore record, which has been produced by Sturgill Simpson, early next year. It will contain the infectious and nostalgic new single “Cabin in the Woods.” Writing music with a flare of drama and honesty has, so far, worked very well for Brit Taylor. Musicians and fans alike can’t help it, they’re drawn.
“Let me say I’ve been lucky enough to work with some really great artists from Kentucky – Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, to name two, and seems there’s no end to the talent that comes out of Kentucky,” said “Cabin in the Woods” producer David Ferguson. “One of those is Brit Taylor. ‘Cabin in the Woods’ is a shining example of her singing and songwriting talents. Give it a chance. You won’t be sorry.”

Rising country musician Levi Hummon is a product of Nashville. Born and raised in the storied city and fathered by Marcus Hummon, a famed (Grammy award-winning) Nashville songwriter himself, Levi’s success isn’t surprising. It was inevitable.
We don’t have many details surrounding the forthcoming release from Levi Hummon. But we anticipate his debut album will contain his already hit singles, “Good Riddance,” “Drink On,” and “RSVP [feat. Cassadee Pope].”
The Milk Carton Kids
Album Release Date: TBA
It’s been a long time since The Milk Carton Kids took a steadfast, tour-heavy approach to their music. But the time has come for indie-folk beloveds Joey Ryan and Kenneth Pattengale to turn up the heat. Next year, The Milk Carton Kids will be releasing an album of new material. It’ll be their first since 2019’s The Only Ones. According to Ryan, the promotional tour behind their forthcoming album will be their best to date.
“The point of doing this is to create that, dare I say, sacred space. And only people in a room together for 90 minutes can do that. Being able to participate in that is the purpose at the heart of why we started doing this in the first place. For me, a successful show is about what we can create in that moment on that night.”
Check back soon, as details of The Milk Carton Kids upcoming album have yet to be announced. Don’t sleep on scoring your tickets for next year’s tour, bound to be one of the best Americana concert tours of 2023.

Country Albums We Want to Hear in 2022
Tiera Kennedy
Listen up: There is a rising country talent that you’re going to want to hear, a voice so richly layered that we anticipate we’ll be hearing about for years to come. Tiera Kennedy, who recently made waves with her new single “Found It In You,” is gaining ground in the country world with her immeasurable talent and the vitality she brings to the genre. Plus, it helps to be connected with the famous music producer Dan Huff. According to Kennedy, Huff has brought a whole new element to the fullness of her music.
“It was a song that had all the things I think my music is made of, in terms of melody, lyric, story — and I was excited we were able to put out an early version,” Tiera tells Taste of Country. “But now, after my wedding and getting some momentum, I’m thrilled to share the great big production version we made after having Dann Huff join us in the studio.”
We can’t wait for the arrival of Tiera Kennedy’s debut studio album, a record we think will be touched by the country gods surrounding her.
Thomas Rhett: Where We Started and Country Again: Side B
In early November, Thomas Rhett had a Santa’s sleigh-sized heap of good news to deliver to his adoring fans. To begin with, he released the first new single off his sixth studio album. The track, “Slow Down Summer,” is a string-forward ballad co-written by Rhett and a few other Nashville legends. It’s the first taste of his new album, Where We Started, expected in early 2022.
“I wrote this song from the point of view of two people who are in love during senior year of high school,” Rhett explained via a press release. “I envisioned them headed off to different schools and they’re starting to understand that the moment the weather starts to change, they’ve got a 99-percent chance this relationship is not going to work. I know that myself and a lot of people have been there before, wishing the fireworks stage doesn’t have to end.”
In addition to Where We Started, Rhett will be completing his record from this year, Country Again, with a Side B. This album is also due out in 2022, giving Thomas Rhett fans plenty of new material to watch out for next year.
Dierks Bentley, TBA
Album Release Date: TBA
Fans of Dierks Bentley are accustomed to receiving a new album from the artist every-other year. But the end of 2021 will mean four years without a new album, leaving fans to wonder: When will Dierks Bentley release his new album, the follow-up to 2018’s The Mountain?
Finally, during a recent radio interview with hosts Kelly Sutton and Amber Anderson on Amazon Music’s Country Heat Weekly, Dierks Bentley confirmed that his new album is done. After taking some time to enjoy life, be with is family, and cope with the pandemic, Dierks Bentley spent some dedicated time in Nashville getting back to his guitar. Now, we feel we’re just months away from hearing more from his upcoming album.
Dierks Bentley’s most recent new track, “Gold,” will be the lead single of his 10th studio album. Though we don’t know exactly when Dierks Bentley will release a new album, we hope the beloved country artist comes through before the end of this year. Whether its traditional or progressive, nostalgic or a whole new sound, we are stoked for what Dierks Bentley has in store for his 10th studio album.
