Best Seats at MetLife Stadium

MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is a fully open-air stadium that is shared by the Giants and Jets, two teams with completely different fan cultures. The stadium is notable for being one of the few NFL venues without an overhanging roof over the seating areas, meaning upper-level fans are fully exposed to the elements. It hosted Super Bowl XLVIII and regularly holds major events. The seating configuration is the same for both teams, though the atmosphere and fan energy differ based on the matchup and time of season.

Best seats for sightlines: Lower level sections 101 through 149 ring the field. The prime sideline sections are 108 through 136, with sections 118 through 125 near the 50-yard line being the top-tier seats. Rows 15 through 30 in those sections deliver the best combination of elevation and proximity.

Best seats for value (Jets games): Jets games sometimes have more available inventory than Giants games in equivalent sections, creating additional value opportunities for flexible buyers. The same upper sideline sections apply for the best budget option.

Best seats for away fans (Jets games): Away fan experiences at Jets games have historically been more mixed, as Jets ticket availability has sometimes led to larger visiting fan contingents. The upper end zone sections at either end of the stadium are the most comfortable areas for away supporters.

Best seats for cold weather: MetLife Stadium is fully open-air with no roof overhang over the seating bowl. Late-season games in New Jersey can be extremely cold and windy. Lower bowl sections on the east sideline receive some protection from prevailing westerly winds due to the stadium’s orientation. Multiple insulating layers are essential from November onward.

Sections to avoid: The very top rows of the upper-end-zone corners at MetLife are among the most exposed seats in the NFL, combining sharp sightlines with full wind and cold exposure. These are particularly uncomfortable for late-season games and represent the weakest value in the building.

MetLife Stadium Seat Numbers

Like many other stadiums, MetLife aims to maintain a simple, recurring theme for seat numbers and placement. The MetLife Stadium seating configuration is the same across every section, so seat #1 will always be near the aisle closest to the lower-numbered section.

For example, in Section 110, Row 1, Seat 1 will be located in the front row, at the seat nearest the aisle between Sections 110 and 109. As you can see in the picture, seat #1 in section 110 is the closest to seat #1 in section 109.

If you have tickets in Section 110, Row 34, Seat 18, you will be seated in the last row on the lower level, nearest the aisle between Sections 110 and 111.

MetLife Stadium Club Seating

MetLife Stadium offers several club seating options at varying price points.

MetLife Stadium World Cup Seating Chart

MetLife Stadium doesn’t just host the Jets, Giants, and major concert performers, but is also one of the 16 host sites for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Soccer fans who are looking for a New York World Cup seating guide can apply much of the same seating advice from the rest of this blog.

Until seats are allocated, the official World Cup ticket category seating is applied to the seat map. Once seats are known, this seating map will update to reflect all sections.

Field Level Club Seating – Toyota Coaches Club

Sections 11C, 112-114, 115C – These seats afford access to a massive club between the two team locker rooms. One of the more unique amenities in the NFL is the on-field patio, accessible to ticket holders, located directly behind the home team bench.

Mezzanine Level Club Seating – Chase and Toyota Clubs

Sections 211-216, 236-241—The seats in these sections are extra wide and cushioned, plus they have additional legroom and ideal views of the field. The clubs themselves include upscale food and beverage options.

Where to Sit at MetLife Stadium if There’s Bad Weather

If the weather is bad, the best seats in the house to avoid Mother Nature’s wrath are located under the overhang behind both end zones. These sections are 121-131, 101-106, and 146-149. The overhang covers rows 36 to 45. These seats are best suited for use when weather conditions are less than optimal.

If you’d rather rough it out while watching the NY Jets, rows 1-35 should have some fantastic deals available.
