Best Music Festivals This Month | October 2015

ACL isn’t the only music festival taking place this month. There are tons of fests happening in October in every corner of the United States, and we’ve picked some of the best ones worth attending. From country to rock to EDM to Halloween-themed extravaganzas, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this month. Route 91 Harvest Festival

For the second year in a row, the Route 91 Harvest Festival will be bringing some of the biggest country stars to the city of Las Vegas for three days of nonstop music. For country fans, this is without a doubt the best festival to attend this month, because country music + Vegas = a guaranteed good time.

Austin City Limits

Annually regarded as one of the year’s most highly anticipated festivals, Austin City Limits returns for 2015 with two weekends jam-packed with amazing artists. Though both weekends predominantly have the same artists on the bill and will feature headlining performances from the Foo Fighters and Drake, lineups vary slightly for each, so choose wisely. At ACL Weekend One, you can catch bands like The Strokes and Alabama Shakes among others, while Weekend Two has groups like Florence + The Machine and Modest Mouse. There’s no wrong choice here, so no matter which weekend you attend, you’ll enjoy some fantastic music.

Treasure Island Music Festival

In the Bay Area this fall? Check out the Treasure Island Music Festival. Here, you can catch big acts like deadmau5, The National, FKA Twigs, Chvrches, Panda Bear, and more, all performing on Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay. Fest organizers wisely split its lineup into two genre-categorized days each year, the first day containing EDM/hip hop artists and the second day featuring more rock-oriented performers.

If you’re a fan of Eric Church, you won’t want to miss this one. The American Roots Music & Arts Festival takes place in the country superstar’s hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina, and he’ll be celebrating his homecoming by headlining BOTH nights. Curated by indie rock band The Growlers for the fourth year in a row, Beach Goth 4 will surely appeal to indie rock fans. However, the lineup is so diverse, with additions like Sir Mix-A-Lot, Die Antwoord, and Parliament Funkadelic, that there’s surely something for any music lover to enjoy. Moreover, fans of Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas will be pleased to see that this is the one North American date he didn’t cancel this year.

Not many people can say they’ve had the chance to see Ozzy Osbourne play on Halloween night. Fewer can say they did it just before Black Sabbath headed out on their Final Tour.
