When the first COVID-19 quarantine began, stars John Legend, Chris Martin of Coldplay, and OneRepublic began the #TogetherAtHome live stream concert series. Performing in the comforts of their home studios/pianos, this musicians launched a movement, encouraging artists alike to join in the effort to connect with fans amidst the pandemic.
Now, with support from Global Citizen and the World Health Organization (WHO), the #TogetherAtHome movement has evolved to become what will likely be known as the Live Aid of COVID-19 times. With curation by Lady Gaga, the live multi-TV-network event “One World: Together At Home,” was born.
Scheduled to take place April 18th, 8:00 PM EST, “One World: Together At Home” will feature appearances by Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, David Beckham, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, Idris and Sabrina Elba, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Kerry Washington, Lang Lang, Lizzo, Maluma, Paul McCartney, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan, Stevie Wonder and friends of Sesame Street.
Not only does “One World: Together At Home” boast one of the flashiest lineups we’ve seen this year, all proceeds from the concert will benefit the U.N. Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund. The event is designed to focus on the tireless efforts from those on the frontlines and to celebrate healthcare workers around the globe. Celebrity late-night TV stars Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert will reign over “One World: Together At Home”
—an event worthy of not one, but three iconic hosts.
In addition to NBC, ABC and CBS, “One World: Together At Home” will air on BBC One, Disney, NBC and ViacomCBS stations around the world. You can check out a more detailed list of all participating networks, here.
