After a four year break, Regina Spektor has finally announced the upcoming release of her seventh studio album: Remember Us to Life. Though Spektor held off the release of her seventh record for what seemed like forever, she’s been present and productive in the New York City independent music scene, her home for several years now. The album announcement is accompanied by the release of “Bleeding Heart”, Spektor’s first single in three years since “You’ve Got Time”, the current Orange is the New Black theme song. You can check out the bouncy new single below:
Remember Us to Life will be released on September 30th and is currently available for pre-order. The record will contain 11 tracks with three additional songs featured on the deluxe edition. We’re pretty excited that this Russian-born, NYC raised vocalist and pianist is making her return, clad with all new material. Spektor’s music, often quirky, deeply personal, and feverishly poignant, has impressed musicians ranging from The Strokes to Chance the Rapper (who revealed cutting Spektor from “Same Drugs” was his biggest mistake of 2016!). And it’s no mystery why.
We can’t wait to see what Regina Spektor has been up to these past four years and how she’s decided to shape her seventh LP, Remember Us to Life.
