Renegade Squirrel Goes Kamikaze On Philadelphia Phillies
There are no ifs ands or buts about it–the Philadelphia Phillies are bad. At 23-47, not much has gone right for manager Ryne Sandberg and his team during the 2015 MLB season.
In fact, things have grown so dire for the former National League powerhouse that even Mother Nature has begun to rebel against the squad.
During a recent game against the St. Louis Cardinals (one that would ultimately result in yet another loss for Ryno and crew) a squirrel invaded Citizens Bank Ballpark and proceeded to launch a kamikaze assault on the Phillies dugout!
As if the rodent could sense the second baseman’s sagging batting average, Chase Utley was apparently the inital target of the squirrel’s aerial onslaught. Sadly, the incident probably provided the only excitement in the game for Phillies fans.
Strangely enough, this isn’t the first time a squirrel has made its presence known in Philly. One of the animals also made an appearance during a Phillies-Cards game during the 2011 NLDS.
Hey @Cardinals,
Keep the squirrel at home next time.
Thanks, @Phillies pic.twitter.com/ZmXNaDAivu

We’ve all heard the old expression “when it rains, it pours.” Apparently when you’re as down on your luck as the Phillies, it rains wild animals.
