Sigur Rós releases new album Kveikur in June

The ethereal Icelandic rock group Sigur Rós has announced that they will be releasing their new album Kveikur on June 17/18. The new song Brennisteinn was released last November, which features a heavier sound than the overarching dreamy tone of the band’s usual musical themes. Could this be an indication of a new musical direction for Kveikur?

They premiered the album title song Kveikur on their tour this year and will be on a massive European tour this fall, featuring beautiful destinations such as Rome in Italy, Oslo in Norway, and Dublin in Ireland.
