The Weeknd Announces ‘Legend of the Fall’ Phase Two

The Weeknd just wrapped up the North American leg of his current world tour in promotion of his Daft Punk, pop R&B album Starboy. Now, Abel Tesfaye is getting ready to take off across the pond and extensively tour Europe. But those of you who weren’t able to catch the crooner in the states this go round are in luck.

The Weeknd just announced that there will be a second U.S phase of the Legend of the Fall Tour, scheduled for September through to November. This second round will have The Weeknd criss-crossing through North America, playing largely in arenas. The Weeknd will be joined by Nav and Gucci Mane, who will be promoting his recently released album DropTopWop. But considering the number of special guests who appeared on the first leg of Legend of the Fall (Lana Del Rey, Drake, A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti), we think that the second will feature several big names along the way. The 23-date trek will begin in early September with stops in Boston, Denver, Las Vegas, and Chicago.

The Weeknd has also dropped another music video from Starboy, which has already produced videos for “I Feel It Coming”, “Starboy”, and “False Alarm”.  Now, the disco touched, Tears for Fears-esque track “Secrets” has its own visual representation, and is by far the strangest clip we’ve seen from The Weeknd in awhile. The video, from director Pedro Martin-Calero, is inspired by European art cinema, and features an invisible Abel Tesfaye who wanders through a futuristic architecturally fascinating building in pursuit of a woman who, at one moment in the video, levitates. The video doesn’t make a lot of narrative sense but that wasn’t really the point. Instead, the “Secrets” video is a Kubrickian journey through the thematics of an incredible song.

It’s been a wonderful and crazy ride for Abel Tesfaye, the Canadian crooner who has taken the music industry by storm. Phase Two of the Legend of the Fall Tour will go on sale sometime soon, and we suggest staying on top of it, as Phase One sold out pretty quickly. And it’s no surprise, considering the caliber of The Weeknd’s Legend of the Fall Tour, the level of production, and talented guests.
