U2 Announces “Innocence + Experience” 2015 World Tour

You’ve probably heard Bono in the news for two reasons as of late: first, being his nearly fatal bicycling accident this past Sunday in Central Park, and the second being that U2 has announced the dates for their upcoming “Innocence + Experience” 2015 World Tour.

What to expect on the “Innocence + Experience” World Tour?

The tour will bring U2 to 19 cities across the US and Europe, with two nights scheduled for each stopover. According to Bono, the two-night structure for the “Innocence + Experience” Tour will allow the band to have two very different feelings from night to night, such as a rock and roll event with a night of acoustic arrangements to follow. Though the tour is still in its planning stages, the band assures us that this tour is going to be unlike any other they’ve had before. And since it’s been a decade since U2 has hit indoor arenas, we’re not sure what to expect either.

What has U2 Been up to since their 13th album release?

Songs of Innocence hit everyone’s iTunes libraries as a gift from Apple back in September, and even though the act of music gift-giving caused a lot of negative backlash for the band, U2’s record sales tell a different story. Within the first month of its release, Songs of Innocence reached 26 million downloads, pushing its debut up to No. 9 on the Billboard 200. Now, as the year is coming to a finish and 2014’s best albums are being reviewed, Rolling Stone has declared Songs of Innocence as the best album of 2014, coming out on top of other critically acclaimed albums released this year such as Taylor Swift’s 1989, The Black Key’s Turn Blue, and Lana Del Ray’s Ultraviolence. Clearly, U2 had some tough competition to win this title, but Bono and his fellow Dubliners have proven that they can rebirth themselves and still give us original, striking music that tells both a universal and personal history. In other words, U2 continues to do what very few rock bands have done. And we’re beyond grateful for what they have to give. Check out U2’s video for “The Miracle of Joey Ramone” below:

“Innocence + Experience” World Tour Ticket Info and Why You Should Buy:

“Innocence + Experience” 2015 World Tour tickets will go on sale Monday, December 8th to the general public. As stated earlier, most stopovers will last for two nights, (U2 fans in NYC will have the opportunity to choose from four consecutive nights scheduled at MSG) allowing fans a higher chance of being able to secure tickets to at least one performance. The “Innocence + Experience” 2015 tour will definitely be one of the best rock concerts of the year. Why? Because you’re going to want to see Rolling Stone’s top album of 2014 be performed live, and, from the title of the tour, it seems that we can expect to hear some unreleased material from Songs of Innocence follow-up, Experience.

The “Innocence + Experience” Tour kicks off May 14th at Vancouver Arena (giving Bono ample time to recover from his bicycling accident), so check out the full schedule below, and get ready for Monday, because U2 tickets are known to go fast.
