We’ve only picked our favorites, so check out who made the cut below.

NonameRoom 25

Chicago rapper Noname has been anything but modest in announcing her new album Room 25, and why should she be? Her debut mixtape Telefone was one of the best rap releases that year. Telefone, fortified by Noname’s witty and introspective lyricism, was also a testament of diversity. Musically, Room 25 ranges from jazz to atmospheric R&B, and includes features from fellow Chicagoans Smino and Saba.

It’s emotional. It’s real. And it ROCKS!”

Lana Del ReyTBA

This week, Lana Del Rey released two songs from her Jack Antonoff-produced LP, slated to arrive in 2019. “Mariners Apartment Complex” and “Venice Bitch” are two accompaniment pieces which detail, seemingly, one tumultuous love affair. Though much of Del Rey’s catalog is romantically tinged, these new tracks are very maturely produced and composed, leading us to believe we still haven’t seen the best of the singer/songwriter.

Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen

This past October, Canadian pop-star Carly Rae Jepsen told a New Yorker Festival audience that she’d already written over 80 songs for the follow-up to 2015’s EMOTION. The singer has previously hinted that the new album will have a disco vibe, a statement which was followed up, two months later, by Jepsen changing her Instagram bio to what fans are speculating may be lyrics from an upcoming single. Her bio now reads: “When you move it’s like a disco darling – all my dreams come true.” Now, since Jepsen has been added to the Lollapalooza line-up, we are hoping to hear more of her new album soon.

Rihanna fans are reeling with the information they received just a week ago. Rihanna hard at work on her ANTI follow-up, a dancehall focused record. Vampire Weekend

Vampire Weekend

Supposedly titled Mitsubishi Macchiato, the new Vampire Weekend album was confirmed by frontman Ezra Koenig to be 94.5% done. But does this refer to the writing, recording, or release? We think it could be awhile longer before we get the new Vampire Weekend album in full, but considering we didn’t think it would happen in the first place, we’re just happy updates keep coming. Vampire Weekend is slated to perform two nights in Ojai this Summer, where we hope tracks from the new album will be debuted.
