Will Kanye West Tour in 2022?

It’s been a long time since Ye, formally known as Kanye West, has gone on tour. The last Kanye West headlining tour was 2016’s “Saint Pablo,” which ended prematurely due to the rapper being hospitalized for his mental health. Which means, it’s been over five years since Kanye West has been a touring artist.

It’s been a long road for Kanye West fans—to say the least. But we’re not here to rehash the drama and upheaval of being a Kanye West fan. Instead, we’re here to look forward to what he might have in store for us: new albums, and possibly, a headlining tour.

Last November, Ye dropped the guest-packed, religiously communal DONDA. Now, just three months later, Ye has confirmed the upcoming release of DONDA 2. According to Ye, the new sequel will come out on February 22, 2022—an astrologically significant day for the U.S. Though we are hesitant to believe in the first date Ye gives us, we are taking the route of optimism when it comes to DONDA 2.

What We Know About ‘DONDA 2’

The Instagram announcing the release date of DONDA 2 features an image of Ye’s re-created childhood home, burning. The same image appeared at several live DONDA listening parties that took place in 2021.

Later, Ye elaborated on the significance of the chosen date: “According to the stars, the United States is finally getting a spiritual makeover with its first-ever Pluto Return on Feb. 22, 2022. Astrologically, a Pluto return is when the heavenly body returns to the same position in a birth chart where it was when the chart began.”

Ye has also confirmed that DONDA 2 will feature executive production by Future. According to those close to the artist, Ye has once again knighted Marilyn Manson to create in the studio with him. Marilyn Manson can be found on DONDA‘s “Jail Pt. 2.”

Will Kanye West Tour in 2022?

Last year, on December 9th, Kanye West and his special guest Drake performed a “Free Larry Hoover” benefit concert at the L.A Coliseum. Much like the cinematic aesthetic Ye used for his “Saint Pablo” Tour, the backdrop of the Larry Hoover benefit show was haunting and legendary.

Ye’s performance spanned from DONDA to deeply beloved tracks such as “Runaway.” The whole time, smoke billowed up from under a spotless blue-lit stage. His performance was unbelievable, like bottling a dream. Fans looked on, remembering the incredible talent of Kanye West, onto a man deserving of his soliloquy.

In the time since Kanye West last went on tour, he has performed mainly in this theatrical mode. From 2019’s “Sunday Service” to the Marilyn Manson-and-DaBaby-wielding DONDA listening parties, Ye has managed to keep our attention this whole time&mash;and he didn’t even have to go on tour.

But will this year be the end of Kanye West’s touring hiatus?

We believe it will be. We think Kanye West will announce a short, major city, stadium tour in 2022. Why? We don’t think it’s possible for Ye to release two studio albums, his tenth and eleventh, without going on tour to support them.

We think it’s likely that Kanye West will headline at least one major music festival this summer. Then, we think he will embark on a mini-tour throughout the major U.S cities. Where will Kanye West perform in 2022? L.A, Philly, NYC, Chicago, Miami, and Atlanta, all have a major change of seeing Kanye West live, this year.

Considering this would be Ye’s first headlining tour in over five years, we think the rapper will start off slow when it comes to hitting the road. It’s possible he announces only a few concerts for this calendar year. But considering everything Ye has been cooking up since “Saint Pablo,” we think it’s finally time to get excited about seeing Kanye West in concert.
