How to Save on NHL Hockey Tickets

1) Pay Attention to the Fees

When looking to buy the best, or the cheapest NHL tickets there's a plethora of different NHL ticket exchanges to choose from (NHL.com, StubHub, TicketMaster's NHL TicketExchange, etc.). The one thing all of these ticket sites have in common is that they all have service charges, aka hidden fees. However, TickPick is the only ticket site that provides a 100% authentic guarantee, and has NO service fees.
TickPick charges sellers a 10% commission, and buyers 0%. This is why on average our hockey tickets are 5% to 15% less than our competitor's. On TickPick we show all-in prices, so the price you see is the price you pay. However, almost every other site will try to deceive you and hide fees. Thererfore, if you are going to compare hockey ticket prices, make sure that you compare the prices on the final check out page.

2) When to Buy NHL Tickets

When NHL tickets first go on sale, ticket prices on NHL ticket exchanges often increase substantially. However, prices often decrease as the season approaches. Roughly four to six weeks in advance of the season is a great time to buy NHL tickets?this is when the hype is at a low.
During the hockey season, ticket prices for the best NHL teams and the worst NHL teams behave very differently. On average 75% of the time ticket prices will decrease as game day approaches. Unfortunately, that means 25% of the time prices are going to remain the same or increase. As one would expect, the best teams' average ticket prices have a higher likelihood of increasing, while the worst teams' ticket prices will almost always decrease as the game approaches. Therefore, we believe the best time to buy cheap NHL Hockey tickets is two to seven days prior to the game. This is because historically hockey tickets are near their lowest prices, yet there?s still an abundance of tickets to choose from.

3) Where Should I Sit for an NHL Game?

As many hockey fans will tell you, the best seats for an NHL game is really a personal preference. Convential wisdom says that the best seats are closest to center ice, but some fans prefer sitting behind the goal where their favorite team shoots twice. One piece of advise that isn't debatable is that if you cannot sit in row one in the lower level right on the ice, you are better off sitting above row 7. Rows 2-7 will not offer views that warrant the price because the glass can be distracting. Many hockey fans prefer watching the game from the first few rows in the mid and upper levels so they can see the plays unfold. If you aren't sure where you'd like to sit we advise taking advantage of TickPick's Score Report which will point out which tickets are the best deal. The cheapest seats for a hockey game are usually in the upper level behind the goal that home team defends twice.

4) Discount NHL Tickets

The idea of dicsount NHL hockey tickets doesn't really exist. Hockey teams are very reluctant to sell tickets at a discount, as they do not want to water down or reduce the appeal of their product (by offering sales). Other sites like TicketsNow and the NHL Ticket Exchange do sometimes offer discounts, however, it's typically 10% off their 25% fees, which is still more than our total 10% seller commission we charge. However, here at TickPick we like to offer our new users real, meaningfull discounts. We are currently running a $10 off discount (for new customers), on any hockey tickets and we guarantee we offer the cheapest NHL tickets on the web.

5) Bidding On NHL Hockey Tickets

If you are looking at hockey ticket prices and you think they are just too expensive, think again. TickPick has created a unique bidding platform which allows fans to name their price. Most consumers don't realize how much hockey ticket prices change. For example let's say you are looking at NHL playoff tickets and the cheapest price is $300, using the bidding platform you can set a bid for $200 on specific seats that you are interested in. Then if a seller lowers their prices, TickPick's system is checking to see if the asking price drops to your bid price, if it does, our system insures that you'd be the one to get that great deal.
