For concerts at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square you want to get there early since it is first come, first serve. You can check out the nice cushioned seats in the back, as well as the standing room area. Regardless which you prefer, the earlier you get there the better your options will be. Some concerts have a VIP area off to the side. Unless you are going to a show with a rowdy crowd I do not think VIP tickets make sense. It is often crowded and expensive, but of course it does come with some perks, such as location and exclusivity.
The Best Buy Theater, formerly known as the Nokia Theater has a unique floorplan that allows for multiple seating layouts. However, the most typically set up is General Admission. When it is a GA event the floor (right in front of the stage) is standing room only and allows you to get as close to the stage as possible. In addition, there are unassigned seats right behind the standing room only area. The best part about these seats is that they are inclined, so even if you are in the far back you will have an unobstructed view of the stage. Note: for GA events there are no seats in sections 1 thru 7.

These notes include information regarding if the The Rad Theater seat view is a limited view, side view, obstructed view or anything else pertinent.
