Chance The Rapper has released a cover of “Wonderful Everyday”, the theme song from the beloved kid’s TV show Arthur. Along with being backed by his band “The Social Experiment, the track features a few vocal cameos, including Wyclef Jean, Francis & The Lights, and Jessie Ware. Earlier this summer at both Sasquatch! and Governor’s Ball music festivals, Chance The Rapper included “Wonderful Everyday” briefly in his setlist. But to our delight, Chance is here with a full cover, one that is packed with beautiful harmonies and a full, orchestral sound. Check out this new soulful version of “Wonderful Everyday” below.

Heartwarming, isn’t it? Anyone who watched that precocious aardvark as a child can agree that Chance The Rapper’s take on Ziggy Marley’s song leaves you feeling good with a combination of nostalgia and optimism. At the start of the summer, Chance The Rapper joined his father to create the #SaveChicago campaign, an effort to bring violence to a halt in the rapper’s own hometown. After they successfully initiated 42 hours of non-violence during Memorial Day Weekend via Twitter, Chance was invigorated by his own influence. And now, it’s translating in his artistic ventures as well.
“It’s a simple message, and it comes from the heart: Believe in yourself, well that’s the place to start.” The 21-year old rapper has re-purposed this classic theme song to fit a cause close to home (literally), and with the new arrangement we can certainly say that Chance was successful in the spreading of positive vibes. The track was released just in time for Lollapalooza 2014, where Chance The Rapper will be inclined to share his new inspirational cover with his hometown.
