Clippers vs. Warriors - Who Will Win the Clippers Warriors Matchup?
One of the few true rivalries in the NBA today is between the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors, who seem to genuinely hate each other. These two franchises have been abysmal for years but now find themselves facing off in the first round of the 2014 NBA Playoffs. In their meetings this season there was a fair share of both technical and flagrant fouls, including Clipper star Blake Griffin being thrown out.
Just recently, Warriors guard Klay Thompson called out Blake Griffin on being a flopper, adding more fuel to this already blazing fire. From a basketball perspective the Clippers have the upper-hand, especially with Warriors Center Andrew Bogut likely out for the series with a broken rib. Jermaine O’Neal has been solid off the bench, but asking him to cover the likes of DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin off a pick and roll with Chris Paul just is not fair.
Steph Curry is the great equalizer however, and when the best shooter in basketball gets hot, anything can happen. We are luckily enough to see these teams face off in the first round, and if nothing else the series will be incredibly entertaining. Will the Warriors get out of the first round, or will this be the start of a championship run for the Clippers?
