Everything We Know About Doja Cat’s New Album and Tour
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the news and signs of DC4, aka the fourth studio album from Doja Cat. Two weeks ago, we were finally gifted the album’s first single. The new single, “Attention,” starts off as a beautiful, melodic track focused on Doja Cat’s serene vocals and quickly transitions into some dominant bars.
Which is all to say, “Attention” had us hooked from the very beginning. The new single arrived with a dreamy, surreal music video and has Doja Cat placed at the center of the universe. There, she is surrounded by hungry faceless fans while she spits lyric after lyric spreading nuance to her fame. You can check out the stylish “Attention” music video, below.
Doja Cat has been here, and there, since her last album, Planet Her. First, we heard her on “I Like You (A Happier Song)” from Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache. Then, we saw her appear on the ELVIS soundtrack with her single “Vegas.” Most recently, we heard her on the latest SZA single “Kill Bill,” which opens with bars from Doja Cat.
Now that Doja Cat has released the lead single from her new album, fans are beginning to wonder: When is Doja Cat releasing DC4? Here is everything we know about Doja Cat’s new album—and tour.
When is Doja Cat Releasing DC4?
Sources in the industry say fans can expect to hear the rest of Doja Cat’s new album this year. We anticipate fans will receive at least one more single before the summer ends. “Attention” was just the tip of the iceberg, and the rest of the tracks are soon to follow.
Doja Cat is going on tour this fall. Which means, we think it’s likely her new album arrives just ahead of her first concert on tour. Doja Cat will kick off her concert tour on Halloween Night, 2023. We believe the rest of her new album will drop within the first two weeks of October 2023.
What is the title of Doja Cat’s new album?
On May 9th, Doja Cat spouted off a few controversial tweets. Though she may have unnecessarily demeaned her previous two projects, Planet Her and hot pink, fans were also given the title of her forthcoming album.
“Its not called hEllMoUth either its called ‘First of All‘ and yes I’m announcing the album title right now.”
There you have it: Doja Cat’s fourth studio LP will be titled First of All. Very little else is known about First of All, but there are a few details we’ve gathered from social media to help us paint a clearer picture of what Doja Cat is about to drop.
What will First of All sound like?
According to Doja Cat, in the same aforementioned Twitter storm, First of All will contain “rap only” and “no more pop.” This, matched with her other comments about Planet Her and hot pink, lead us to believe that First of All will really shift the center of gravity on Doja Cat’s rap identity.
The drop of “Attention,” the leading single from First of All, came with a fierce music video of Doja Cat rapping the tracks indelible bars. It also arrived with some provocative album art, aka Doja Cat smeared in blood wearing an upside-down A. We believe the expert rapper is signaling big change, and readying her fans for her most commanding era yet.
Who will appear on First of All?
First, we have to consider Doja Cat’s new direction. If First of All doesn’t contain any pop, we doubt there will be any pop artists who make guest appearances on the new LP. But does that include artists in the hip-hop genre who are pop-leaning?
Despite First of All being a rap-only album, we still think there’s a good chance we hear artists such as Post Malone, SZA, and Cardi B on the new album.
But we also want fans to prepare themselves for First of All being guest-free. Doja Cat is asserting dominance in what we’ve heard so far. She’s name-dropping and heavily calling out some of her contemporaries. We wouldn’t be surprised if, on First of All, Doja Cat is mostly standing alone.
First of All Rumored Track List
Earlier this year, Doja Cat seemed to be revealing, via her Instagram Stories, a track list for her upcoming album First of All.
