Fall Out Boy Drop New Single and Video

It’s been a busy time for Fall Out Boy, who continue to tour in promotion of their upcoming album MANIAdue out early next year. The iconic rock band is now in their fifteenth year of writing, recording, and performing, and from what we’ve seen of Fall Out Boy lately it looks like they have zero intention of letting down. Just yesterday, Pete Wentz and Co. delivered their fourth new single, “Hold Me Tight or Don’t“, along with a Dia de los Muertos-inspired music video.

The “Hold Me Tight or Don’t” visuals feature a fiesta filled with sugar skulls, painted faces, and the band playing amidst the cheerful chaos of the Mexican holiday. You can check out Fall Out Boy’s new music video below.

Fall Out Boy’s forthcoming seventh studio album MANIA is due out next year, January 19th. The new record was originally slated to drop in September, but the band opted to keep working on the LP, and even managed to poke fun at their tardiness (ismaniadoneyet.com). Even though Fall Out Boy had to postpone their album release, the band managed to drop some very exciting and contagious singles.

The EDM-anchored first single “Young and Menace” debuted back in April. “It feels like every once in awhile, you’ve gotta do a hard restart that clears the cache and erases the hard drive. I think that’s what “Young and Menace” was – a big palette cleanse,” Pete Wentz told Rolling Stone. In this politically charged atmosphere, it seems that Fall Out Boy have reverted back to doing what they do best: giving people a reason to shout, and dance.

“The world can be a big lonely place, especially for kids who are trying to figure themselves out. I think sometimes we can forget that … that’s who Mania is meant to speak to. That’s who I want to reach.” Wentz added that “Young & Menace” would be the only song on Mania that “sounds vaguely like a kitten chasing a laser around.” Previous Mania singles also include “Champion” and “The Last of the Real Ones“.

MANIA is due out January 19th. You can catch Fall Out Boy on most dates of the annual iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour.
