Hammerstein Ballroom Seating Chart | Info, Tips & Pictures
The Hammerstein Ballroom Seating Chart can be very confusing, and when we say confusing, we mean very confusing. But don’t worry, we are here to simplify it for you.
The Hammerstein Ballroom seating chart will be one of these three configurations:
- Floor General Admission with assigned seating in the balcony (reserved seating).
- Floor General Admission with General Admission in the balcony sections.
- Assigned seating with an assigned section, row and seat number throughout the venue.

Note: The above seating chart will be displayed on TicketMaster regardless if the balcony sections are GA, or are reserved seats, however, it is very different ticket (details below).
Floor General Admission Seats at Hammerstein Ballroom
When you buy General Admission Floor tickets to the Hammerstein Ballroom, they are all the same ticket even if sellers have them listed differently. For example you’ll sometimes see some sellers list tickets in the following manner: Floor, Floorga, GenAdm, GA, GAFloor etc. To make the matters even more confusing you’ll occasionally see the row listed as GA1, GA2, GA3, GA4, GA5, GA6 and so on. This is what TicketMaster prints on the tickets and it’s only for inventory management purposes. Bottom line, even though these Floor GA tickets have a row and seat number printed on them, they are all the same thing. For Floor GA tickets the most important thing to remember is that it’s first come first serve, so if you are trying to get next to the stage you better get there when the doors open.
Hammerstein Ballroom Seating: Balcony Seats
The First Balcony and Second Balcony sections at the Hammerstein Ballroom can be configured in one of two different ways:
- Reserved Seating where you receive an assigned section, row, and seat number, or
- General Admission for the First balcony and Second Balcony
Assigned seats can be a perk if you get some of the better seats, which would be rows A through E in the center three sections. You don’t want to be to far back, otherwise you’ll find the overhang will have a negative impact on the sound quality. If you are in the side sections, 101 or 105 you want to make sure that you are closer to the center as the views can get partially blocked if you are too much to the side. In section 105 that would mean a lower seat number and in section 101 a higher seat number (for a better seat).
When the Balcony sections are being sold as General Admission, what this means is that it’s first come first serve. The biggest difference from this and the GA Floor is that there are actual seats in the balcony section which is sometimes a huge plus.
Similar to GA Floor tickets when Balcony sections are being sold as General Admission, the details that are printed on the tickets are confusing. You’ll find that some tickets will say FirstBalcony, FirstBalconyGA, Balcony1, with row numbers that may say GA0 to GA9. All of these tickets are the same, so once again, the important thing is to try and get there early so you can have your choice as to where you are going to sit.
Hammerstein Ballroom Seating Chart: The Best Seats
In our experience, getting First Balcony seats are your best bet. We say this because the venue will sell 1,000-2,000 Floor GA tickets and to get close to the stage is near impossible. Depending on the event will dictate how many people they stuff in there. We’ve seen Macklemore perform here and Floor GA seats were great because it was not overly crowded. We’ve also seen a lot of country concerts here such as Eric Church and Jake Owen and these concerts were filled to the brim, in these cases we would have loved to be in the first balcony.
The most recent concert that we attended at the Hammerstein Ballroom was Ed Sheeran’s concert. For this concert the Hammerstein Ballroom seating was configured with GA balcony listings. This was a blessing. We got there 30 minutes early and the best seats that we found were in row J section 104. We sat here for the opening act, which was nice. When Ed Sheeran came on we somewhat ran up to the 3rd row where there was a column in between section 104 and 105. We settled in here and stood for the rest of the concert and didn’t have to worry about anyone.
If we ever go back to the Hammerstein Ballroom, we plan on buying First Balcony GA tickets (assuming that they are not reserved seats). If it is reserved seats in the Balcony sections we’ll look for great or even just some good seats in the balcony, but if that doesn’t work, we’ll likely settle for some Floor GA seats.
