Terrell Owens to Rich Eisen: “I’m Not Retired”
Make no mistake about it, Terrell Owens is one of the most polarizing characters in professional sports. As great as the former wide receiver was on the field over the course of his 15 years in the NFL, Owens will probably be remembered for his big personality and the controversy that seemed to follow him around just as much as his exploits on the gridiron.
Even today, nearly five years since the six-foot-three, 220-plus pound football star last played for the Cincinnati Bengals, Owens is still making headlines with his declarations.
While appearing on the Rich Eisen Show, the 41-year-old (who will technically be eligible for induction to the Football Hall of Fame soon) declared that he never officially retired and could play in the NFL today if the right opportunity presented itself–
It’s hard to know whether or not Owens could truly still make an impact on the field after being out of the game since 2010. Nonetheless, Owens still looks to be in amazing shape and is definitely still confident in his abilities.
One thing is certain–his performance on the field with the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and even the Bengals (the Buffalo Bills…not so much) from 1996 to 2010 more than warrants enshrinement at the Hall in Canton, Ohio.
