Usher Concert & Seating Review – Dolby Live Park MGM, Las Vegas

For all Usher fans, this should come as a bit of a spoiler alert: his concerts are amazing and Usher tickets are worth every dollar, even if you have seen Usher perform in the past. The multitalented singer of massive hits like “Let It Burn,” “Caught Up” and “Yeah!” does an excellent job of captivating his audience

We’ve provided some insight on what fans should expect for Usher’s upcoming Vegas performances, how to get tickets, where to sit, and more.

Detailed Usher Seating Chart Review at Park MGM

You can scroll over any section on the Dolby Live at Park MGM seating chart below for a row breakdown.

I’d say any seat in the 300s or below is going to be great. The sight lines throughout the Park MGM are great. The closer you are to the middle, the better off you are, I think that’s even more important in the 300s, as I sat in Section 101b row E seat numbers 27-28. These were slightly off to the side but were absolutely perfect. To be honest it would be hard to beat the Usher seats we had.

What Time Do Usher’s Concerts Start?

Tickets to Usher call for 9pm, and after some brief research from Usher’s last Vegas residence at Caesar’s Coliseum in 2021, I read that Usher typically takes the stage around 9:30.

For the opening night of Usher’s residence at on July 15, 2022, Usher started around 9:40. Keep in mind this is a brand new performance, and things may change slightly in the future, so I’d suggest trying to get to your seats by 9:30 at latest.

I’ll go into a deep review on the MGM Grand seating chart specifically for Usher later, but in summary, I was blown away by the performance, the seating configuration, and the stage design.

How Much are Usher Tickets?

I spent an excruciating amount of time trying to decide where to sit and which Usher Las Vegas tickets to buy. Between options on TickPick (our no-fee ticket marketplace) and Ticketmaster, it was hard to decide how much to spend and where to sit. I originally thought my budget was going to be around $300-$400 a ticket, but when seeing VIP Ga tickets for $600, my price range started to change. I figured if I wanted my wife to be able to enjoy the whole night I knew we needed to have the option to sit, but if that wasn’t an issue, the GA tickets could easily be the best option. With that said, Usher makes this relatively large venue that holds 6,400 people feel incredibly intimate.

The unique circular stage configuration for Usher concerts is fabulous. The dancers are insane. And Usher moves around the venue so that even people in the back of the 300s have incredibly close encounters.

Usher takes moments through the performance to talk to the crowd, explaining how he’s got two different fan bases, people who like his old stuff, and people who like his new stuff, and pulls it all together moving seamlessly into songs that everyone loves!

Usher Pre-Concert Activities

My wife and I had dinner in World Resorts and left the hotel at 9:10, we cut it pretty close, but the UBer drop-off got us right in front of the building and traffic wasn’t too bad. When you get there, they’ll give you a plastic cup in the event you have a drink. We had a bottle of water (important to hydrate when it’s 100 degrees and you are drinking lots of champagne 🍾🤪) and they pour whatever drink you have into the cup, which is amazing that they let you bring in whatever you are drinking, only in Vegas have I ever seen this.

The drink line was pretty long pre-show, but two times during the performance I snuck around to take pictures and use the bathroom and get drinks and there were no lines at all.

Usher Concert Review

The Usher show went on for about 90 minutes. It was a full show and it feels like he covers it all. There’s no encore at the end and they make it very obvious that there won’t be one (which I liked how they did it).

Side note: we went to the after-party right next door On the Record (a speakeasy and Club), which was also fabulous. We paid our way into the Backroom, where a lot of Usher’s staff were. The fabulous dancers were there for hours and we met people who were involved with the stage design and set.

When I was asked what my favorite part was, it was a no-brainer, the set turned into a “gentleman’s club”, and the song “Make Love in the Club” had me losing my mind. The dancing was better than any dancing I’ve seen at any other club in Vegas. Some of this made it so that the recommended age should probably be +15.

It’s rare I leave a concert and I say that I’d like to see that again. If Usher tickets were easier to come by, I’d go see this Usher concert every weekend.

VIP Seats at Park MGM

There were tickets that were on the stage for $1k. It’s incredibly appealing if you can afford that, but given all of the movement and how far you are to the side, I wouldn’t suggest those seats at that price. Instead anywhere in the front three sections are insane. But price matters and the views don’t change all that much when you are in the 200s.

There are couch / VIP seats in the 200’s and they are very close to the 100s despite the fact that the seating chart makes it look like it’s further. Those ~$700 couch seats may be appealing for some people (there’s a lot of room and bottle service).

How to Choose Which Usher Tickets to Buy and Where to Buy Them

It’s all about getting the best bang for your buck and figuring out your budget.

For me, I was tracking tickets on both TickPick and Ticketmaster. There were a handful of seats in the 100’s I had my eyes on for a total of $700 (all-in). Make sure when comparing prices you are looking at the total price. TickPick is the only site that will show you the final price upfront. On average, the savings are about 10%, compared to other sites that hide their fees at checkout.

If there were tickets that were in the 200’s within the first 5 rows I would have chosen those if they were $400-$500 each. On Tickpick right now I’m seeing tickets listed in section 202 row J for $380, that seems like a great deal, and those seats will be amazing.

I don’t like to tell people how to spend their money, but what I would say is if you are spending $250 to be in the last row of Park MGM, I think $100 more to get into the lower bowl would be worth it.

No matter what, I can confidently say Usher does not disappoint.
