Watch Eminem Take Over the Empire State Building for Jimmy Kimmel
As a part of his annual New York visit, Jimmy Kimmel enlisted friend and rapper Eminem to deliver one of this week’s performances. And to pull off a feat of epic proportions, not to mention delivering a delicious pun, Kimmel suggested Em take to the Empire State Building to do it.
“A performance on the Empire State Building was a dream of ours that was two years in the making,” Kimmel’s co-executive producer, Doug DeLuca, told Variety. “When Google and Eminem came on board the project hit warp speed.” You can check out the performance below, one which reminds us that Em is still one of the most dedicated rappers in the game.
Eminem’s “Venom” appears in the film of the same name. The iconic rapper’s tenth studio album, Kamikaze, arrived at the end of August. Though it had a slow reception amongst fans, Kamikaze is now one of the best selling rap albums of 2018. Not to mention “Killshot“, his diss at Machine Gun Kelly, which shot to the third-highest amount of views for a music video within 24 hours of being uploaded when it dropped in September.
So far, Eminem has announced dates in Australia and New Zealand for his “Rapture” Tour. Hopefully, we will see some North American tour dates soon. In the mean time, we hope to see more rogue, one-off performances. Lest we forget, Eminem is the king of dropping the mic.
