NHL hockey fans everywhere eagerly await the release of the upcoming season’s schedule so that they can begin planning which games they will buy tickets for and attend that year. In years’ past, the NHL schedule has almost always been released in late June, following the Stanley Cup Finals that usually culminate earlier in the month. With Covid-19 a factor in 2020-21, the schedule wasn’t released until December 23rd of 2020 for this season, with the opening game between the defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning and the Chicago Blackhawks slated for January 13th.
Each NHL team’s opponents for the 2021 season are already set, but the dates and times of the games are not. Many passionate NHL fans have anxiously awaited the entire schedule to be released so they can begin their search for hockey tickets to games they know they’ll want to attend. What isn’t so clear is when do NHL tickets go on sale?

NHL 2021 Ticket On Sale Date
Typically, fans are able to purchase single game tickets from secondary ticket marketplaces within a day of the NHL schedule’s release, when season ticket holders put their tickets up for sale. This year will be different, with only certain teams allowing NHL fans to attend home games at their arena to begin the 2021 season based on local policies on large gatherings, but more teams will begin to increase fan capacity as the season goes on.
