The Pepsi Super Bowl LV halftime show is one of the most anticipated ancillary events of this year’s Super Bowl experience for fans. The theatrics surrounding the game itself and all of the festivities come to a head during the halftime show, where some of music’s most celebrated musicians have graced the world’s biggest stage in front of its biggest audience.

From Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” to heralded performances by stars like Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Madonna, to last year’s fantastic display in Miami by co-headliners Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, there’s always something fans are left talking about through the next day amidst conversations about the game itself, and of course, the creativity of the commercials.

Who Will Perform at Halftime During Super Bowl LV?

This year’s halftime performer for the Super Bowl in Tampa, FL will be none other than Abel Tesfaye, otherwise known by his stage name, The Weeknd. The three-time Grammy award winner who’s known as an extraordinary performer and who dropped his Billboard200 #1 album After Hours, back in March will perform on the iconic stage and potentially for a live audience at Raymond James Stadium, if fans will be allowed.

The news was announced to The Weeknd’s global fanbase via his Twitter and Instagram social media pages back on November 12th.

“We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position,” said Tesfaye after being named as the performer. “I’m humbled, honored and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage.”

What Songs Will The Weeknd Perform at the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show?

While there’s no way to confirm this far out, there are a few hit songs that we would wager will be sung during the very precise 13-minute performance. Two would be The Weeknd’s most recent #1 singles, “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless” which are off of his most recent album and have lived on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for quite a while. “Blinding Lights” ran the gamut from being a hit song on the radio, to a hit music video with over 300 million views on YouTube, to being used in viral TikTok dance videos that have amassed millions of views.

Other hits that we would guess will be performed would be “Starboy,” the upbeat hit song from his 2016 album, Starboy, as well as “The Hills” and “Can’t Feel My Face” from his second studio album from 2015, Beauty Behind the Madness, which really put him on the map as a star that was here to stay.
