Last week, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala dropped the announcement we’ve all been waiting for: their highly anticipated fourth album—the follow-up to 2015’s Currents—is due out February 14, 2020. The album, titled The Slow Rush, will feature two previously released singles (“Borderline” and “It Might Be Time”). You can check out “It Might Be Time”, which dropped along with the album announcement, below.

The psychedelic pop project is not known to extensively tour their albums. After 2015’s Currents, Tame Impala did not go on a full promotional tour, but they did make several festival stops. Years later—last month, to be exact—Tame Impala went on a limited tour through the U.S and parts of Europe, which included stops at Coachella Music Festival, Primavera Sound, Madison Square Garden, and D.C’s The Anthem.

Because Tame Impala didn’t tour behind Currents, we think it is likely that Kevin Parker will take a few chosen bandmates on the road in 2020 behind The Slow Rush. Already, Parker has announced that Tame Impala will travel the west coast in March, beginning in San Diego. This first leg of Tame Impala’s tour will end in Mexico City—an increasingly popular destination for musicians. Tame Impala will be joined by electronic indie duo MGMT and Clairo.

March 10 — Los Angeles, CA @ The Forum
March 13 — San Francisco, CA @ Chase Center
March 19 —  Mexico City, MX @ Foro Sol

Though Tame Impala may not announce a large-scale arena tour like fans are hoping for, we anticipate that Kevin Parker and co. will at least make it over to the east coast. Fans who’ve seen Tame Impala live know: there is nothing that compares to the visually stunning, energy grooving, psychedelic pop concert experience led by the alternative disco guru Kevin Parker.

Don’t forget, the new Tame Impala album The Slow Rush is out February 15, 2020 and everything we know about it here. Check back soon for more Tame Impala tour dates, to see which cities will have the opportunity to attend one of the best live shows money can buy.
