2015 Lineup
The Black Keys
Blues rock aficionados The Black Keys, led by Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, have established themselves as one of the biggest rock bands of this generation. The band has won seven Grammy Awards since 2011 and racked up three more nominations this year, so they are without a doubt living up to their rockstar status. Their latest album, “Turn Blue,” came out in 2014 and is their fourth consecutive record produced by Danger Mouse. After extensive touring in support of the album over the last year, The Black Keys will surely be ready to rock the main stage at Bunbury on Friday.
The Avett Brothers
The Avett Brothers are known for combining traditional American styles like bluegrass, folk, and country with straightforward rock. The band is made up of brothers Seth and Scott Avett as well as Bob Crawford and Joe Kwon. The Avetts have been playing music together since they were kids and were in a few bands together before officially forming The Avett Brothers. It didn’t take long for these guys to get noticed, as fans and critics alike delighted in their Americana style. They made their major label debut in 2009 with “I and Love and You,” which was produced by Rick Rubin and is their highest-charting and most successful album to date. Two years later saw them performing alongside Bob Dylan and Mumford & Sons at the Grammy Awards. So what’s next for The Avett Brothers? Seth Avett recently confirmed that the band is at work on a new record, which we can hopefully expect sometime within the next year.
Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg made his debut on Dr. Dre’s 1992 smash hit album “The Chronic,” after which he quickly rose to fame as a solo artist, becoming one of the biggest rappers of the 1990s. Just a year after his introduction on Dr. Dre’s album, Snoop Dogg released his solo debut, “Doggystyle.” The album broke records at the time of its release, selling a million copies in its first week and going on to be certified 4x platinum. In 1996 he released his sophomore album, “Tha Doggfather,” which once again debuted at the #1 spot. Over the years, Snoop Dogg has released a number of successful albums and hit singles and has been a consistent chart presence for the last two decades. Recently, he recorded a reggae album under the alias Snoop Lion, but has since returned to the Snoop Dogg moniker and is ready to release his latest studio album, the Pharrell-produced “BUSH,” in May.

Although they haven’t released an album in six years, Brand New has been keeping fans happy by touring here and there since 2011. Tame Impala
Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala began as a bedroom recording project in 1999 when vocalist/guitarist Kevin Parker and bassist Dominic Simper were only 13. The duo was joined in 2007 by drummer Jay Watson, after which the band signed with Modular Records. The ’60s-inspired, fuzzy, psychedelic sound of their 2010 debut album “Innerspeaker” attracted international critical praise, and their follow-up effort, 2012’s “Lonerism,” was even more successful. Tame Impala is expected to release their highly anticipated third album “Currents” later this year.
The Decemberists
Formed in 2000 in Portland, Oregon by frontman Colin Meloy, The Decemberists are known for making music with theatric grandeur, literary influence, and lush instrumentation. The group built up a substantial fan base in the first half of the decade before signing with major label Capitol Records in 2005, releasing their widely successful album “The Crane Wife” the next year. Over the last decade, The Decemberists have released several critically praised albums and enjoyed tremendous commercial success. The band went on hiatus for a few years, but came back together in 2014 to record their seventh studio album. The new record, titled “What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World,” was released in early 2015.
Old Crow Medicine Show
Nashville-based band Old Crow Medicine Show plays music in the vein of old-time bluegrass, alternative country, and traditional folk. In 2014 they released their latest album, “Remedy.”

They released their self-titled major label debut two years later, which earned them huge commercial success. In September 2014, they released the catchy top 40 single “Shut Up and Dance” before coming out with their third full-length, “Talking Is Hard,” a month later.

Their garage/blues rock sound is remniscent of bands like The White Stripes and The Black Keys. They were championed early on by the BBC, who named them to their Sound of 2014 list, as well as by Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, who wore the band’s t-shirt during their headlining set at Glastonbury and later invited the band to open two of their shows at Finsbury Park. This exposure helped the band earn more spots at festivals around the world, and they were recently tapped by the Foo Fighters to be the opening act for their Sonic Highways tour.

Country singer and songwriter Kacey Musgraves independently released three albums before her breakthrough appearance on the competition show Nashville Star in 2007.
