That winter 1960 game ended in a tie and was the highlight game of the season for the Cowboys, which struggled later on that year. 

Eight years later, in 1970, the Cowboys began changing their luck with a win in the NFC Divisional Playoffs, securing their spot in the NFC Championship Competition. Over the next several decades, the rivalry between the two teams intensified, with the Cowboys coming out on top one year and the Giants coming out on top the next.

3. The 2014 Cowboys vs. Giants game was nicknamed The Catch after Odell Beckham Jr.’s famous one-handed catch amid interference. The Cowboys beat the Giants 31-28.

He threw 373 touchdowns, many making ESPN’s top plays in weekly reviews. A legacy, he’s related to Peyton Manning of the Colts and Archie Manning of the New Orlean Saints. Eli Manning was replaced by Daniel Jones.

2. Drew Bledsoe

Bledsoe is a quarterback who played for the Dallas Cowboys over two seasons, starting in 2004. Bledsoe was one of the team’s top players and well-known for being a great team player. Bledsoe remains one of the most honored players in the NFL. 

3. Carl Banks

Banks is a linebacker who played for the New York Giants over the course of 12 seasons, in which he helped lead the team to several Super Bowl victories. To date, Banks is one of the best linebackers in the New York franchise’s history. 

4. Emmitt Smith

Smith is an athlete who is one of the best running backs in the history of the NFL. Smith played with the Dallas Cowboys over several seasons. He has a rushing yard record of 18,355. 

5. Odell Beckham Jr.

OBJ is a wide receiver drafted by the New York Giants in 2014. OBJ is one of the team’s most popular offensive players with a knack for high speed and athleticism. He started as a punt returner but now focuses on possession receiver.

He received several honors, including 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl Selections in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018. Speaking of wide receivers, on the Dallas side, CeeDee Lamb is making news with his fifth year with the team.

6. Tom Landry

Landry was a player but is most well known for his time as head coach of the Cowboys and is one of the most successful coaches in the NFL. He played for the NY Giants (31 interceptions and 338 punts) before he became a coach. He mentored Raymond Berry, future coach of the Patriots, and Dick Nolan of the San Francisco 49ers. 

7. Jason Witten

The former 2003 third-round pick joined the Cowboys after a stellar career at the University of Tennessee. Witten was as reliable a third-down option as it got in the passing game, proving to be one of the game’s greatest safety valves as well as red zone threats during his 17-year NFL career. He was one of the most durable players in NFL history, which helped him retire in 2020 with the second-most receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history, only behind Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez.

8. Saquon Barkley

Barkley might have grown up a New York Jets fan, but this running back has played for the Cowboys since 2018. Barkley was an attractive Draft option to many teams, largely because of his incredible fourth-quarter college plays for Penn State. Barkley follows Ezekiel Elliott, who was recently made a free agent. E. Elliott played seven seasons with the Cowboys.
