Mexico City Grand Prix Seating Breakdown

If you’ve been to an F1 race before, you’ll know that knowing which grandstand to sit in determines the type of experience you’ll have. Below is a breakdown of the Mexican Grand Prix grandstands.

Grandstand 3

Grandstand 3 at the Mexican Grand Prix is considered one of the best seating options at the F1 race. It borders the braking zone into Turn 1 as the cars break to drastically lower their speed. There is also a clear view down the main straight. However, some people don’t like that the view through the esses is of the rear and side of the cars.

Grandstands 4 and 5

Also some of the best seating options, though Grandstand 5 is typically considered to be a slightly better view. Sitting here, you’ll get a head-on view of the approach, breaking hard into turn 1, and through to turns 2 and 3.

Grandstand 6

Another favorite seating option at the Mexico City Grand Prix. It’s further back from Turn 1 and doesn’t have a view of the main straight. However, you get a good view of the esses and the acceleration down the back straight. It is a great spot for photos.

Grandstand 6A

This is not a favorite section of fans. You get a view of the nondescript straight between turns 3 and 4 and if you sit low enough, you’ll get a distant view of those same turns. But that’s about it.

Grandstands 9,10,11

This section is always jam-packed and is one of the favorites of fans. Each grandstand offers expansive views of the circuit. You’ll see the cars breaking from nearly 300kph into the 90-degree left-hand Turn 4 and also a view of Turns 5 and 6. You’ll also see the F1 cars speed toward Turn 7. It’s important to note that Grandstand 10 is an even better option with a view directly down the straight. It’s arguably the best seating option at the Mexican Grand Prix.

Grandstand 14 and 15 (Foro Sol)

Unfortunately, this grandstand is famous for being the spot where driver Ricardo Rodríguez lost his life. Part of that turn has been cut off now. This section of the race now cuts through a baseball stadium that was built in the 90s. From Foro Sol, you’ll see cars wrap around the final section of the track and enter at Turn 12, snaking around Turns 13 and 14. It’s an exciting portion of the race that fans love.

Best Seats at the Mexico City Grand Prix

Everyone has a different preference when it comes to seating options at F1 races. However, the general consensus is that Grandstands 3, 4, and 5 offer the best overall views.
