Carolina Panthers (NFC South)
Another NFC South team is the Carolina Panthers, based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Their home field is the Bank of America stadium, and their mascot is a black and blue panther. They competed against the Denver Broncos at the Super Bowl in 2016.
Chicago Bears (NFC North)
Like the Arizona Cardinals, the Chicago Bears were founded in 1920, and they have played at some iconic stadiums since, including Wrigley Field. The Chicago Bears played against Indianapolis in the 2007 Super Bowl.
Dallas Cowboys (NFC East)
The Dallas Cowboys got their start in 1960 and have an impressive number of division championships and playoff appearances under their belt. They are represented by the colors navy blue, metallic silver, royal blue, and white, and the image of a star.
Detroit Lions (NFC North)
The Detroit Lions are based out of Detroit, Michigan, with their home field of Ford Field in downtown. Their team colors are Honolulu blue, silver, dark steel gray, and white, and their mascot is a full-body blue lion.
Green Bay Packers (NFC North)
The Green Bay Packers hail from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and have played at their home field of Lambeau Field since 1957. The team was established in 1921, and since then, the Green Bay Packers have secured the highest number of wins of any team in the NFL. Their most recent Super Bowl showing was in 2011 when they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Los Angeles Rams (NFC West)
The Los Angeles Rams share their home field of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with the Los Angeles Chargers. They last competed in a division championship and playoffs in 2021 and won the 2022 Super Bowl against Cincinnati.
Minnesota Vikings (NFC North)
While the Minnesota Vikings have not won a Super Bowl, they have the highest NFL season and combined winning percentage of all the franchises who haven’t. They have also appeared in conference championships at least once a decade since the 1970s.
New Orleans Saints (NFC South)
The success of the New Orleans Saints has been on the rise since the turn of the millennium. They won the Super Bowl in 2010 and appeared in conference championships, division championships, and playoffs over the last two decades.
New York Giants (NFC East)
The New York Giants currently play at MetLife Stadium, though they’ve played at iconic fields like Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium since they were first established in 1925. They won the Super Bowl in 2008 and 2012, both times against the New England Patriots.
Philadelphia Eagles (NFC East)
Thirteen people inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame have been associated with the Philadelphia Eagles, which were first established in 1933. Their most recent appearance in the Super Bowl was in 2023, and their most recent win was in 2018.
San Francisco 49ers (NFC West)
The San Francisco 49ers are one of the top ten most valuable teams in the NFL, as of 2019, and one of the 12 most valuable sports teams globally. They have playoff appearances and division championships for 2022 and Super Bowl appearances in 2020 and 2013.
Seattle Seahawks (NFC West)
The Seattle Seahawks have the loudest fans, according to two Guinness Book of World Records wins for most noise at a sporting event. They appeared in the 2015 and 2006 Super Bowls and won in 2014.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFC South)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were first established in 1976. Their most recent division championships and playoff appearances were in 2022, and they won the 2021 Super Bowl against Kansas City.
Washington Commanders (NFC East)
The Washington Commanders recently changed their name, and not for the first time. They were established as the Boston Braves before moving to Washington, D.C., in 1937. They have rivalries with the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants.
Baltimore Ravens (AFC North)
The Baltimore Ravens play out of the M&T Bank Stadium in Owings Mills, Maryland. The team was established in 1996 and has played in the Super Bowl four times, including winning the 2013 Super Bowl.
Buffalo Bills (AFC East)
The Buffalo Bills are based out of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. Their main rivalries are against the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and New York Jets. They played four back-to-back Super Bowls in the 1990s.
Cincinnati Bengals (AFC North)
The Cincinnati Bengals last played in the Super Bowl in 2022. They had playoff appearances and division championships in 2022 and a conference championship in 2021.
Cleveland Browns (AFC North)
The Cleveland Browns are based in Cleveland, Ohio, and were established in 1946. Their biggest rivalries are with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Baltimore Ravens.
Denver Broncos (AFC West)
The Denver Broncos were established in 1960 and are represented by orange, navy blue, and white. They have made eight Super Bowl appearances, winning three Super Bowls, including in 2016, and are tied with the New England Patriots for the highest number of Super Bowl losses.
Houston Texans (AFC South)
The Houston Texans are a new team established in 2002. They wear deep steel blue, battle red, and liberty white. They last appeared at a division championship in 2019.
Indianapolis Colts (AFC South)
The Indianapolis Colts were established in 1944 and have undergone many changes and evolutions since. They won the 2007 Super Bowl, and their biggest rivalry is against the New England Patriots.
Jacksonville Jaguars (AFC South)
The Jacksonville Jaguars were established in 1993. Their colors are teal, black, and gold, and their mascot is a jaguar. Their last playoff appearance was in 2022.
Kansas City Chiefs (AFC West)
The Kansas City Chiefs appeared in the 2020, 2021, and 2023 Super Bowls. They won in both 2020 and 2023 against San Francisco and Philadelphia.
Las Vegas Raiders (AFC West)
The Las Vegas Raiders have gone through many ups and downs since their establishment in 1960. Their last playoff appearance was in 2021.
Los Angeles Chargers (AFC West)
The Los Angeles Chargers were established in 1960 and are represented by powder blue, sunshine gold, and white. Their last playoff appearance was in 2022.
Miami Dolphins (AFC East)
The Miami Dolphins wear the iconic colors of aqua, orange, white, and marine blue. They had back-to-back Super Bowl wins in the 1970s, and their last appearance was in 1985.
New England Patriots (AFC East)
The New England Patriots are tied for the most number of Super Bowl wins with the Pittsburgh Steelers with six and losses with the Denver Broncos with five. That makes them the team with the highest number of appearances. Of course, they’re also known for their long-standing relationship with NFL player and GOAT contender Tom Brady.
New York Jets (AFC East)
The New York Jets keep their rivalries close, with the greatest rivalries between the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New York Giants. They last played in the Super Bowl in 2012.
Pittsburgh Steelers (AFC North)
The Pittsburgh Steelers are the seventh-oldest team in the NFL and the oldest in the AFC. They have the most Super Bowl wins, alongside the Patriots, with six, and are tied for most Super Bowl appearances with the Broncos and Cowboys with eight.
Tennessee Titans (AFC South)
The Tennessee Titans were established in 1960 and are represented by the colors of navy, Titans Blue, red, silver, and white. They currently play at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
