
J.J. Watt Has Mad Hockey Skills
Last season, Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt terrorized opposing quarterbacks to the tune of 20.5 sacks. His impact on the field was so great for Houston that Watt was named the recipient of both the Bert Bell Award and 2014 AP Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Apparently ruling the roost in one sport wasn’t enough. Now, the six-foot-six, 290-pound Watt looks ready to become the next Brett Hull or Jaromir Jagr.
Making a surprise guest appearance at the second annual Blake Geoffrion Hockey Classic, Watt took to the ice in skates and full uniform. However, the NFL star wasn’t content to simply say hello to the fans in attendance at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin. He grabbed a stick and attempted a penalty shot.
Against Brian Elliott of the St. Louis Blues and the NHL.

Not bad stick work for a washed-up, former high school hockey player. If this NFL thing with the Texans doesn’t pan out, Watt may have a future on the ice.
The event raised funds for the UW Health Burn Center. Kudos to Mr. Watt for lending his talents to a good cause.
