Jessie Ware Announces North American Tour Dates

British singer-songwriter Jessie Ware just announced that she will be hopping across the pond following her European tour in support of last year’s GlasshouseJessie Ware’s brief North American tour will kick off with a set at Coachella on April 15th, and conclude at DC’s Lincoln Theater in May.

Ware’s longtime producer and collaborator Benny Blanco contributed to the production, while Dave Okumu—the guitarist and frontman of The Invisible who wrote and produced on much of Ware’s debut record Devotion—contributed writing credits.

“She was playing me this music where she was trying to be someone else,” Blanco tells Spin. “She was just trying to do songs that anyone else can do. And the special part about her is she has this smooth, sexy sound that she created. And I was like, why would you try to be like everyone else when you can just continue to do what you do, and be better than anyone else in the world at it?”

The first Glasshouse singles “Midnight” and “Selfish Love” were released with connected noir-style music videos which strung together a heartbreaking tale. The third single, “Alone”, veered on the sultry side showcasing yet another strength of Ware’s vocals. Blanco tells Spin, “It happens so slow, then so quick. Like, we’ll be in the studio for so long, and then it’s just like, she’s like, ‘Alright, fine!’ And just does the craziest thing, and it just all comes together.”
“Also,” he says, dead serious, “she can sing the fuckin’ phonebook or the alphabet and it’s gonna sound good.”

Though Jessie Ware is currently known as London’s best kept secret, we don’t think it will be that way for much longer. Check out Jessie Ware’s full list of tour dates below.
