Mark Ronson, Miley Cyrus Release New Single and Music Video “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart”
In 2015, Mark Ronson released Uptown Special, his last solo album, one that largely put him on the map for those who weren’t as familiar with the English producer. Three years later, we find Ronson at the forefront of pop music, this time with country-pop musician Miley Cyrus.
Their new collaboration, “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart“, is country-tinged, mostly from the lovable twang nestled in the heart of Cyrus’ voice. Even though “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” doesn’t have an obvious climax to it, the natural arc of the song is contagious and lovelorn. Check out the new, easy to devour “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” below.
The above clip finds Cyrus in a slow, dreamlike car chase, her vehicle speeding past gun ranges, priest-filled strip clubs, and down highways lined with Miley supporters. The “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” video is a spectacular addition to the canon of superfluous, action-packed music videos that ultimately lead to nothing. And we’re all about it.
“Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” is the first single off Mark Ronson’s upcoming LP, which has yet to be titled, or given a release date. But we do know that Ronson has also tapped artists Lykke Li, King Princess, Yebba, and others. In a BBC interview, Ronson said his upcoming solo album was inspired by his recent divorce with model Joséphine de La Baume, which explains the “sad banger” descriptor he’s been passing around when asked to describe the project.
Will Mark Ronson tour in 2019? With a new album on the way, we wouldn’t say it’s completely out of the question. Stay tuned for updates on Ronson’s upcoming LP, tours, and more.
