Miley Cyrus Kissing Girls and Flaming Lips

“I hope I could inspire you guys as much as The Flaming Lips have inspired me and encouraged me to always be myself and to make music because I love it.”

That’s a quote from Miley to her fans at at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on the third American stop of her new tour on February 22nd.

She went on to introduce Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd to the stage, saying “as much as you guys are fans [of me] I’m a true fan of these amazing guys right here. Fuck yeah!”

Wayne was in fact carrying a giant “Fuck Yeah” silver bubble balloon, and he went on to join Cyrus in a duet of “Yoshmi Battles the Pink Robots,” backed by Steven on keyboards and Cyrus’ band.

After the song, Wayne led them into an encore of the song because he joked that he was still drunk from hanging out with 2 Chains the night before. It seemed that Miley had been planning to sing “Yoshimi” twice all along though, and so maybe Wayne was just hamming it up for the audience. Billboard magazine went as far as to call it an “unprecedented pop show moment, [playing] the same song twice in a row just because she could.”

As fans saw via her Twitter account after the show, Cyrus didn’t stop the shocking surprises there. She also locked lips with celebrity fan and fellow songbird Katy Perry.

She also did a pretty awesome (in our opinion) rendition of Outkast’s “Hey Ya,” just in time for the rap duo to hit it big at this year’s top music festivals.
