Sam Smith, Fully Recovered, and Ready to Continue Tour

We know you’ve probably been nervously anticipating the return of British soul-pop sensation Sam Smith, who suffered a vocal chord hemorrhage during a show last April. So now, we’re happy to announce, that after surgery, Sam Smith proclaims “I can sing again!” to his fans on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of Ariel from Disney’s The Little Mermaid, at the moment she regains her own ability to speak.

Yesterday, Smith also released a heartwarming message to his doctor via Instagram, along with a reminder to his fans that you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone (especially if it’s a voice worth millions):

“Completely overwhelmed. Thank you so much Doctor Zeitels for everything. You have truly saved me this past few months. Such an amazing man. You truly truly truly don’t know what you got until you lose it. I have fallen in love with music all over again over this past month, and more than ever I feel so blessed to be able to sing and do what I love every day xx”

So, without further delay, Sam Smith has promised fans an even better string of performances than what he would have been able to do pre-surgery. To make up for the cancelled April Australia tour dates, Sam Smith will be heading to the land down under November and December, beginning with a show at Perth Arena, November 28th. Here are the following Sam Smith Australia tour dates which have been rescheduled from April:

Tuesday 1 December – Entertainment Centre, Adelaide (AA)
Friday 4 December – Qantas Credit Union Arena, Sydney (AA)
Tuesday 8 December – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne (AA)
Saturday 12 December – Entertainment Centre, Brisbane (AA)

Beginning July 18th at Kentucky’s Forecastle Festival, Sam Smith will begin his run of North American Tour Dates, an extensive list of shows which has Smith performing until the end of August.
