T-Mobile Park History and Overview
T-Mobile Park is a retractable-roof baseball stadium located at 1st Avenue South and South Royal Brougham Way in Seattle, Washington. Since 1999, it has been home to the Seattle Mariners and holds a seating capacity of 47,476 for Mariners games.
The stadium’s retractable roof serves primarily as shelter for the stands and playing field, rather than creating a fully enclosed space. Given Seattle’s mild climate, a complete enclosure was unnecessary. Still, Seattle’s frequent rain led to the installation of a retractable roof that can open or close during games depending on weather conditions.
Seattle Mariners Best Seats
The top seats for a Seattle Mariners game at T-Mobile Park are the Diamond Club and Field Box VIP tickets. If these are beyond your budget, consider upper-level infield seats in sections 320-340, which offer excellent value.
Also, noting that the Seattle skyline is visible beyond the left-field wall, seats along the first baseline offer the best views of the skyline.
T-Mobile Park Seat Numbers
The T-Mobile Park seating chart, which details seat numbers, shows that seat 1 in any section is closest to the lower-numbered adjacent section. For example, seat 1 in section 128 is closest to the highest-numbered seat in section 127.
Generally, the best seats are near home plate. Following this logic, seats on the left-field line with lower seat numbers are preferable, while on the right-field line, higher seat numbers are better. (Remember, seat and row numbers do not correspond.)
Seattle Mariners Premium Seats
The Seattle Mariners and T-Mobile Park offer several premium seating options for fans. The Diamond Club Seats, positioned behind home plate, include food, beverages, and parking as part of the ticket price. These seats also feature padded backs for extra comfort.
In the 200-level sections, many seats come with concession vouchers worth $5 to $10, waiter service, lounge access, and padded seating.
Seattle Mariners Dugout and Bullpen
The Mariners’ dugout is located in front of sections 121-124, while the visitors’ dugout is in front of sections 136-139. The bullpens for both teams are positioned in front of the left-field sections, adjacent to section 152.
T-Mobile Park Sun and Shade Guide
T-Mobile Park has a retractable roof that is used regularly throughout the Seattle season, particularly in April and May when Pacific Northwest rain is common. During summer months, the roof is often open for evening games when Seattle enjoys some of the most pleasant outdoor baseball weather in the country.
When the roof is open, the stadium faces roughly south. Under open conditions, the lower-level sections on the first base side receive afternoon sun, while the third base lower level benefits from the upper deck and roof panel overhang sooner. The outfield bleacher areas are exposed when the roof is open. The roof itself, even in partial retraction, provides shade to large sections of the lower bowl on both sides.
When the roof is closed, T-Mobile Park is fully covered, and the sun is not a factor for any seat. Closed-roof games also tend to be louder due to the acoustics, making it one of the better indoor-outdoor hybrid atmospheres in baseball.
For evening games with the roof open, T-Mobile Park is consistently comfortable in summer. July and August evenings in Seattle are mild and often the ideal outdoor baseball conditions on the West Coast.
Best shaded seats when the roof is open: Third-base side, lower-level sections 108 to 122, and any section with the roof panel directly overhead.
Bottom line: T-Mobile Park in the summer, with the roof open, is a genuine treat. Check the roof forecast before your game. When open, the third base side is the shade pick. When closed, any seat is equally comfortable.
Seattle Mariners Kid Clubhouse
For families attending Mariners games, consider seats near Center Field Plaza, home to the Kids’ Clubhouse. This area offers entertainment options suitable for children of all ages, from toddlers to teens.
ADA Seating at T-Mobile Park
For wheelchair users or guests attending with someone who uses a wheelchair, accessible seating is available at the top of most sections throughout the stadium.
Folding chairs can be provided to guests who want to sit with fans using wheelchairs. To find ADA-accessible tickets, use the “Additional filters +” option on the event page and select “ADA (wheelchair accessible)” to display seller-marked accessible seats.
