1989 – Secret Sessions
Over the year Taylor Swift was working on 1989, she scoured the Internet for her biggest fans – fans who had gone to concert after concert, bought all of her albums, but never got to see them in person. Then, she had her team reach out to them and tell them to show up at secret locations across the United States. From there, they were bused to even-more-secret locations, including her apartment in NYC, her mom’s home, and other locations close to Taylor’s personal life. Once there, they got the chance to listen to 1989 a month before anyone else. Check out the behind the scenes video:

1989 – Release & 2015 Tour Speculation
If you’ve been anywhere near civilization this week, you’ve probably heard that Taylor Swift just released her new album “1989” yesterday. For her fifth studio effort, Swift has totally abandoned her country roots, now fully embracing the pop style, an inevitable shift that she’s been moving towards for years. However, unlike many artists who drastically alter their sound, this change seems to be having no negative effect on Swift’s career. The album has been out for just over a mere 24 hours, and already it’s receiving nonstop praise from critics and fans alike. Even celebrities can’t help gushing about it over social media.
“1989” has Swift for the most part trading her acoustic guitar for ’80s-style synthesizers and electronic drum beats. She produced the album in collaboration with Max Martin, who has proven himself as a pop hitmaker for the last two decades or so. Martin also co-wrote some of Swift’s biggest pop hits from her last album, including “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “22” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.” These songs and their lack of country style launched her closer towards becoming a pop diva, and now with “1989,” she’s pretty much cemented her status as just that.
It’s no surprise that the 24-year-old singer is seemingly everywhere this week, with a plethora of scheduled television appearances, performances, and interviews to promote her new album. Tonight she’ll be appearing as a guest judge on NBC’s “The Voice,” and will later perform on “The Late Show With David Letterman.” Other upcoming publicity appearances include “The View,” “Good Morning America,” and CBS’ “The Talk” to name a few.
In the recent past, artists have announced huge tours through television appearances like these, so are we in store for some big Taylor-related news this week? Nothing is official yet, but fear not, Swifties! I think it’s safe to say that a big tour is coming soon. There’s been some speculation that Swift is planning something big for early 2015 in support of her new album, so it’s just a matter of being patient and waiting for that inevitable announcement.
If patience isn’t your style, and you don’t want to wait to find out when you can see her next year, there’s still time to get tickets to see Taylor before 2014 is over. She’s got a few shows lined up, including two stops on the Jingle Ball tour.
If/when Taylor does announce a tour, we’ll keep you posted with full details, so be sure to subscribe to our blog for all the latest updates. In the meantime, where do you want to see Taylor Swift tour? Let us know in the comment section below!
