What Is the Houston Rodeo Like?

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, also known as Rodeo Houston or HLSR, attracted over two million attendees to its 89th edition in 2022.

The Rodeo Parade kicks off the show on Saturday and runs through downtown Houston. Attendees also often join over 10,000 people in the Rodeo Run, which includes 5k and 10k runs to raise money for the show's scholarship.

Who Performs at the Houston Rodeo?

The largest crowd usually comes for the annual Go Tejano Day. Tejanos are Tejas and Coahuila descendants who lived in Texas before it became a state. On Go Tejano Day, the performers and the attendees honor indigenous culture through music.
